THE POINT OF NO RETURN?

      There was a story circulating in the European news today wherein the EU leadership has become concerned about illiteracy levels within the Bloc. Specifically Austria produced some less-than-stellar numbers in a recent survey. This came as something of a surprise because a century ago, Austria was one of the cultural hubs of Europe. The country suffered a huge wave of anti-intellectual sentiment after the Fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918; and like a lot of other EU nations has more recently been the target of American Exceptionalism spreading its toxic influence. 

      For us Americans, however, therein lies the story that we should all note. According to the article, "a total of 29.0% or around 2.6 million people have a low level of literacy...The number of those who have problems with reading increased by 11.9% between 2012 and 2023.The average literacy level among Austrians aged 16 to 65 stands at 254 points, which is significantly below the average of 260 points set by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development)."

    While these numbers are alarming, if the US had the same levels of literacy it would actually be an improvement. Even more importantly, our literacy rates have shown a consistent level of decline over a longer period of time. However, the numbers in Austria showed a hopeful trend:

   "People from 16 to 24 performed above the OECD average, while older people appear to have significantly lower reading skills than the expected level, the agency said." This is decidedly not the case in the US.

     In the recent controversies surrounding Harvard University and student visas, it was revealed that around 27% the attendees at America's nominally top-rated academic institutions were educated outside the United States. This led our Department of Education---which itself has been headed by a collection of complete morons for a very long time to scapegoat international students rather than focus on our own longstanding and very institutionalized decline.

    That the American Public Education System is hopelessly corrupt can hardly be denied; though most of the American Public itself generally does. Compared to Austria (and most countries in the world) American parents and local authorities actually have a great degree of control over public education. In spite of this greater freedom, Americans mostly have remained wholly apathetic towards---and even supportive of---the increasingly worsening Status Quo. 

   The underlying reason for this is that we, as a society, do not value children or young people generally. We live in a culture that is deeply Narcissistic and completely focused on the present. We have both contempt for the past (as is reflected in our treatment of the elderly) and little to no concern for the future (as is reflected in our treatment of our youth). This trend has been going on for several years, and, like the rampant dumbing-down of our society, is by design. We have allowed ourselves to outsource our thinking and put our future generations in the hands of Mass Media, Mass Schooling, and Big Tech and the result has been predictable. 

    For this reason, the 'solutions' proposed by the Left Wing of the Uniparty (i.e. throwing more money at the problem and trusting self-styled 'experts' to use it responsibly) or those proposed by the Right Wing of the Uniparty (i.e. outsource more of it to Corporate Robber-Barons and Megachurches and trusting grifters to exercise accountability) won't work. We have to face the fact that the problem begins at home. While it maybe so that, to some extent, it does take a village to raise a child---in the sense that the community should be supportive of raising and training children---handing over the youth to the community and hoping for the best hasn't worked out well and never can. Austrians are figuring this out. Maybe instead of looking down our noses at the Europeans we could learn something from them. 

    

THE ENEMY IS WITHIN

     When Pat Buchanan was running for US President as an Independent, he stated that he was doing so because there was no Party which represented actual Conservatism. He was proven right with the GOP coronation of George Bush Jr. that year, and made a similar statement before his recent retirement. The Neoliberalism of the Clintons; the Neoconservatism of the Bushmen; the fusion of Corporate America and Big Government firmly entrenched what we call the Deep State into power and erected a new concept referred to as Inverted Totalitarianism. Since the US Regime Change in 2020, the Deep State has been moving inexorably closer to the next phase of total subjugation of the global populace, The Great Reset, or, as it is its known to its supporters, The Fourth Industrial Revolution. 

    The leaders of the Great Reset employ many of the same tactics which were effective for them previously, such as Managed Democracy, or, as the Dead White Male who tried to warn us of these impending trends stated:

   "That the patriotic citizen unswervingly supports the military and its huge budget means that conservatives have succeeded in persuading the public that the military is distinct from government. Thus the most substantial element of state power is removed from public debate. Similarly in his new status as imperial citizen, the believer remains contemptuous of bureaucracy yet does not hesitate to obey the directives issued by the Department of Homeland Security, the largest and most intrusive governmental department in the history of the nation. Identification with militarism and patriotism, along with the images of American might projected by the media, serves to make the individual citizen feel stronger, thereby compensating for the feelings of weakness visited by the economy upon an overworked, exhausted, and insecure labor force. For its antipolitics, Inverted Totalitarianism requires believers, patriots, and nonunion 'guest workers.'”

   Those were the words of an actual scholar and intellectual: today we have poseurs posing as great geniuses when, in reality, they are a collection of Mental Midgets drawn from a badly compromised Academic Establishment. In a nation where ignorance and illiteracy are cultivated, it requires little effort to pose as one of the Intelligentsia, provided that one promotes the position required by one's moneyed patrons. 

   Both so-called Liberals and so-called Conservatives employ these types of people; while they debate about the details, they agree upon the overall agenda. On the current situation in the Middle East, for example, the so-called Liberals tell us that Trump's policies caused the problem, so they have to send Carrier Groups and weapons to shore up the Israeli Regime. So-called Conservatives tell us that it's all Biden's fault for not sending Carrier Groups and weapons before to prop up the Israeli Regime. Whether the Israeli Regime should be propped up or not, is a Third Rail Topic; and anyone asking that question is immediately labelled either a tin-foil hat Conspiracy Theorist, an extremist (Left- or Right-Wing depends upon who's accusing): it's simply a matter not open for discussion or debate. 

   Victor Davis Hanson, who likes posing as an Intellectual on the Right, is clutching his bow-tie again, this time because some of his fellow dorks on the Academic Left are expressing knee-jerk support for the Palestinians just like his Neocon side is reflexively supporting Israel. Hanson routinely gives the impression in his writings that out-of-touch Leftist ideologies in our schools is a phenomenon which just began in 2021. One would think that with all the time he's spent hanging around Stanford and Berkeley country-clubs over the last two decades, he might have noticed that this takeover happened a long time ago, but apparently not.

    We're not going to expend much effort attempting to unravel all of the incredibly disingenuous points Hanson asserts throughout his piece. After turning a blind eye to Israeli persecution of Christians, forced Vaxx policies, suppression of dissent, ethnic cleansing against the Arab population, and illegal military operations against Syria and Lebanon for the past three years---and now assisting the genocide in Gaza with a naval blockade---it is beyond ridiculous to pretend that somehow the Biden/Harris Junta, as Hanson claims "had announced overtly that it was rabidly anti-Israel, it would be hard to imagine anything it could have done differently from its present nihilist behavior."

    Hanson's utter depravity and mendacity can be seen from his concluding sentence alone: "And our enemies dream of doing to us what we just saw in Israel." No, you moron: our enemies dream of doing to us what they have been doing in Israel. That is because our enemies---the enemies of freedom and humanity--- are the interests running their government and are the same ones running ours. 

    Israel just announced the formation of a One-Party State (true, they, like us, have had a de facto one for years, but now it's official). They've instituted a lockdown of the entire West Bank (i.e. declared Martial Law). Doesn't that sound a bit like what our Oligarchy has planned for our futures? Or just contemporary Israeli policies: cracking down on traditional faiths, imposing internal passports and censorship, expanded domestic espionage, engaging in ethnic cleansing and population control of 'undesirables,' promoting the Homo Agenda; expanding Executive powers at the expense of the Legislature and Judiciary; corporate/state homogenization---what do our real enemies want to do to us, Vic? 

   This isn't all going to change magically by voting in the Controlled Opposition (as if this were even a possibility). The RNC is just as much on the hook to vested Corporate interests as the DNC or the Israeli 'Likud' Party is. At the bottom of all of this, of course, is that our Deep State covets Middle Eastern oil reserves, and Iran is the scapegoat for everything they object to, because the Islamic Republic rejects all of this New World Order tyranny and won't bow to the smug supermen in supranational global commerce.

  The establishment of an Islamic State in Israel may not be a world model for Democracy, but it would be an improvement over what they have: that is a fact whether it is Politically Correct to say so or not. Scapegoating Iran for our national problems is a sick joke---even more ridiculous than the continual finger-pointing at Russia and China since we haven't even had diplomatic or trade relations with Iran in 44 years. 

   Iran isn't flooding the US with fentanyl and causing six-figure casualties each year. Iran isn't responsible for declining life expectancy and fertility rates. Iran isn't causing runaway inflation, mass poverty, and unemployment by imposing fake crises on the American people and engineering mass wealth-transfers. Iran doesn't dominate our depraved Media culture, they aren't imposing the homo agenda on our children; they aren't dumbing-down our schools; the tent-cities and violent crimes in our cities aren't being carried out by Iranian operatives. Our infrastructure isn't collapsing because Iranian terrorists are coming over here destroying it. In fact, Iran has few or none of the problems listed above in their own country: which should give all of the idolaters of the Pax Americana like Hanson some pause for thought.

   They ought also to reflect that for three decades now, the Beltway Establishment has been exporting its exceptionalism into the Middle East. What have been the results? Israel---the country most under our influence---has gone full-tilt into NWO Fascism. In Iraq, the violent crime and addiction rates have gone up while fertility and literacy rates have dropped since Junior invaded in 2003. Twenty years in Afghanistan made no significant improvements in the country and the Afghans were all-too-willing to see us leave. Somalia and Libya turned into complete anarchistic chaos. Saudi Arabia became so exasperated with US arrogance and cultural imperialism that they abandoned the Petrodollar and joined the BRICS. US-trained and equipped armies actually were defeated in Syria and Yemen. Mali and Niger ejected US military advisors and kicked out our NGOs. Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar are trying to get out from under the American thumb as fast as they reasonably can. This has only been happening since 2021? 

   Pundits like these are simply distracting us from the real issue: that the Postmodern Managed Democracy has failed; both in our own country and everywhere else it's imposed or adopted. It's failing in Israel, and the Regime there is proving to everyone---like the Canadians did in 2022---that it can only be sustained at the point of a bayonet. Even in the apathetic, drugged-out US, the specter of the Surveillance State and a quasi-legal Cancel Culture looms in the background of the degenerate superficiality of our way of life. 

   Unfortunately, with the stranglehold that wealthy business interests have over the RNC; and the Neocons' immersion in the Deep State and control over the official counter-narrative, no one is going to bring their abject failures to public attention. The Republican Party---and the Conservative Movement in general---has no future until it repudiates Neoconservatism and pledges to revoke and repeal many of the very policies they once endorsed. Unless that happens, Israel's present will resemble our immediate future---though not in the way Hanson and his ilk mean it. Martial law, lockdowns, a One-Party Police State, ethnic cleansing, and sociopolitical Apartheid will be the New Normal no matter which faction the Oligarchy chooses to govern. 

BANNED BOOKS WEEK

    Sunday was the beginning of what used to be a fairly newsworthy event in the United States: Banned Books Week. Libraries and bookstores around the country often had exhibitions of literature which both here and abroad had been subject to censorship. The purpose of Banned Books Week was to remind Americans of the purpose of our 1st Amendment; that a well-educated public with access to the free exchange of ideas was essential to maintaining our survival as a free people. Of course, today in the Prozac Nation, the 1st Amendment became a dead letter in 2020; and Cancel Culture and Political Correctness defines what is and isn't censorship. Libraries caved in the National Lockdown just as fast and as thoroughly as our schools, churches, and State Legislatures did. 

   In our postmodern era, the American Library Association is, predictably, focusing on 'censorship' of outright homoerotic propaganda. The fact that this is an issue at all says more about the state of American parenting than it does anything else; but since American parents have, for the most part, abandoned their responsibilities to institutions run by arrogant social engineers such controversies were bound to arise. However, given that the Literacy Rate in the United States are now on a par with Sub-Saharan Africa one would think that our libraries would have higher priorities. If Americans actually had any sense of shame left, they would see our educational system for what it is---an international disgrace---start demanding reforms and, at the very least, teaching themselves how to read. 

  The would-be totalitarians here have taken a radically different approach than outright censorship. In Canada, for example, where the Literacy Rates are much higher than ours, Tiananmen Trudeau has had to resort to barbaric methods like book-burning, banning literature, internet censorship, and speech codes. We've actually done many of the same things here; although our suppression of literary material has been done more indirectly. The stranglehold that Corporate America has over production, publication, and distribution of all media materials allows the Oligarchs much latitude to impose censorship under the shield of being private businesses. Schools and libraries have also engaged in this kind of 'soft' censorship by purging their stocks and archives in the name of cost-effectiveness. They claim that much of their material is digitized now; of course access to this material is contracted out to private media agencies which are notoriously lacking in commitment to the First Amendment. 

    Like the rest of America's infrastructure, public libraries are woefully underfunded and incompetently managed. Most of them are really nothing more than Internet cafes, and their bookshelves look more like what's currently available on Amazon's storefront. In the big cities, libraries seem to double as homeless shelters and rent out meeting-rooms for such essential services as Drag Queen Story Hours. In most of our rural communities, it's rare to find a library open more than half the week. Such are national priorities in the exceptional United States. 

    From time to time, however, a city will decide to engage in some Virtue Signalling and pump billions to private contractors 'community investment' by making a grand show of building a new library. A few years ago, a foreign con-man gulled the Seattle City Council into constructing this monstrosity:

     Long-time local residents christened the structure 'The Toadstool' both because of its shape and because of the foul stench radiating from the multitudes of street bums who congregate there. The unbelievably chaotic interior design is just as bad as the exterior: most agreed that in a natural disaster this building would be a death-trap. There's one narrow stairwell in the whole building that doesn't even connect all floors and is both the emergency exit and the emergency entrance for response teams. The massive amount of glass and the steel framing for it would, for example in an earthquake, cut everybody and everything into ribbons for half a block when it came down. As for actual library purposes like research, it's nearly useless, not only because of the bums and violent drug addicts haunting the place, but because the stupid architects made the auditorium open, so that any event held there creates more internal noise pollution than being out on the open street would. In a glass building like this, the noise reverberates on every floor like an echo-chamber. 

    Seattle isn't the only example of this kind of civic flummery; but it is a typical specimen of the superficial approach that American communities take towards solving our growing literacy gap and the very real compromises against our First Amendment. As for a solution to the problem, I wish that there was an easy answer. As it is, when we have politicians and their Corporate Masters who depend upon a population of arrant ignoramuses to keep them rolling in power and profit, there's naturally going to be very little impetus to build or maintain an enlightened and illiterate public. It's a much easier strategy to convince morons that they are intelligent and well-informed than it is to control an astute and aware populace with raw police power. 

     But High-Level Corruption aside, this is yet another crisis entirely of the American people's own making. For short-term gain and to evade our responsibilities as parents and citizens, we Americans turned over our children's minds to ideologues and charlatans who grabbed the opportunity for control and ran with it. As an example of Ameroboob priorities today, note that Banned Book Week doesn't even register on top stories on search engines. Here's a sampling of what does however:

    One would think that the fact that we have Congressmen who can't read the label on a fire alarm and Senators who can't read a Dress Code would be a wake-up call to our illiteracy problem in its own right; but then again, they are mere reflections of what elected them. Our Corporate Overlords want a population just intelligent enough to do the required work, but just dumb enough to accept substandard wages and working conditions; the politicians that the Oligarchs choose to manage us have roughly the same qualifications. 

    Thus today there really is neither the political nor popular will to do much against either Censorship or Illiteracy. Reading has actually become part of the Counter-Culture in many ways. Being seen with a tome written by a Dead White Male would be considered a subversive act in many public venues (including schools and libraries). For my own part, I frequent used book stores and have a decent library at home---full of material that the Oligarchs would rather not be seen and disseminated. Maybe instead of a Banned Books Week we should promote Reading as an Act of Resistance. So honor this week by checking out a good used book store. 

    

    

     

UMM...OK LET'S TALK ABOUT THE TRUMP DRAMA

      At the close of the last article, the long-awaited Courtroom Drama of the Century was beginning to unfold in the Prozac Nation as the President-in-Exile appeared in Atlanta to submit to the Humiliation Ritual obligatorily imposed upon American citizens who fall into the clutches of our so-called 'Justice System.' I knew that the Whacko Left Wing and the Media were salivating like jackals over the release of the mugshot. So I thought I'd try an experiment. With all of the news-feeds and videos I get, I wondered how long I could go without seeing it?

     I actually made it five hours, though it has to be admitted that time included about a two-hour nap. Then on Friday Morning, this story came out:

     "TRUMP MUGSHOT TURNED INTO MERCH: Shortly after the Fulton County’s Sheriff’s Office released the mugshot on Thursday, marking the first time such a picture has been taken of a former or sitting US president, Donald Trump Jr. posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) announcing new t-shirts, mugs, and posters featuring the former US president’s mugshot along with bold red and white text reading ‘Free Trump’.  A t-shirt costs $29.99, a mug is being sold for $15.99, and a mugshot poster is priced at $19.99...Meanwhile, many Trump supporters on Etsy and other online marketplaces have also jumped on the bandwagon and started selling all kinds of merchandise featuring the mugshot – even thongs."

    Yep---that's American all over! Never mind that political opposition is being jailed in the United States---the big question is: how do we make a quick buck off it? Oh, and thongs too: we can't leave the national obsession with sex out of the equation. Get in on the ground floor quick, everybody! Let's make a new strain of legal pot with the picture on the package too. Maybe Bud Light can make a comeback with the pic on a beer can. 

    I'm surprised that Getty hasn't already grabbed the image and started charging royalty fees. 

   After the ordeal, Trump incredibly said: “I think the people of our country don’t get enough credit for how smart they are. And I’m not sure I would have said this 10 years ago. But they get it.” 

   I know: I had to go back and read that one too. It's true though, he really said it. I realize that the stress of the political persecution Trump's been under is taking a toll; and also that politicians have to say things pandering to the crowd to get elected once in awhile: I can live with that. But seriously: Trump would be in the White House now instead of the Atlanta Jail if he didn't live in a nation of Mental Midgets and Moral Pygmies. Granted, there's a large segment of our population who consider character traits like venality, mendacity, treachery, and cunning as being smart; but I don't think that's what the President-in-Exile meant. 

  If anyone wants to gauge the intellectual capacity of most Americans; just look at the leaders they elect, the pundits they listen to, the entertainment media they patronize, or the fact that they believe that Artificial Intelligence is a necessity for daily life. We're talking about a population where most people are stupid enough to believe that there are more than two genders; that masks that can't stop dust-particles are capable of stopping viruses; that hot Summers are caused by lawn mowers; and that corporate crooks who made billions off fleecing and exploiting people are 'woke' social philanthropists who deeply care about the future of humanity.

  We don't even need anecdotal evidence to prove this: studies have shown that many---if not most Americans---can't find their own State on a map; don't know how food is produced, and can't read material as complicated as a restaurant menu or a bus schedule. 

    It's not only in the intellectual sphere where Americans lack intelligence; we probably lead every other nation on the Earth in terms of moral stupidity. 

Recently, there was a good article by Bill Donahue of The Catholic League, titled Incivility is the New Normal. Foreign readers who want a good synopsis of what daily life in an average American city is like can get an accurate depiction of it there. If anything, Donahue understates the situation. 

   "The word has spread fast—we can do pretty much what we want and the penalties for infringing on the rights of others are minimal. We have created a culture of incivility, indeed lawlessness. It is not so much narcissism that we are breeding as it is selfishness. When self-absorption  is celebrated, appeals to the common good fall on deaf ears," he writes. This is the unspoken reason behind why spectacles like the Trump Indictment happen. Trump ran an Administration actually committed to draining the Swamp and holding the corrupt accountable. That's not going to go over well in a culture where many benefit from the Swamp and are personally corrupt. 

   Trump, it appears, misses this point; and actually Donahue too drew the wrong conclusion from it, saying: "The ruling class, as I point out in my book, War on Virtue: How the Ruling Class is Killing the American Dream, no longer believes in holding people accountable for their behavior, and they certainly don’t believe in promoting virtue."

  The reason that the Ruling Class behaves like this is because they are a reflection of what they represent. That is the Third Rail Topic of most sociopolitical dialogue today. Our Constitutional System isn't failing: it's working perfectly. Most commentators simply have it backward: it's the American people who are failing the System: not the other way around. The people running the System today are there because they are the most cunning and ruthless members of a degraded society with no Moral Code to guide it and where human beings are expendable means to ends. 

   The Trump Drama should be a wake-up call to Americans; sadly, though, it likely won't be. Expect more of this in the future as our lack of national character keep us circling the drain in a whirlpool of selfishness and reprisals. 

OH THIS IS BAD...

       The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. was one of the first federal institutions established by our government after independence as a repository for all copyrighted works within the US.  The Founding Fathers put a high value upon literacy and learning, which they believed (correctly) was at the basis of a free society. During the War of 1812, on the order of King Charles' ancestor, the Library was burned by the British. The Library was rebuilt, and Thomas Jefferson donated his own extensive private library to the cause. 

     Monarchs and other dictators don't like independent thinking, however, and the modern Anglosphere has gone to extensive lengths to turn their respective populations into neurotics and ignoramuses who will better both tolerate and even defend the venality and stupidity of their leaders. A case in point was reported in the news today when the Library of Congress was forced to issue a public apology to some mediocre author for using "a non-preferred pronoun." 

     That would be depressing enough, but a recent poll conducted in Britain set the cultural bar at an entirely new low. We rarely issue 'trigger warnings' but readers are really going to have to brace themselves for this one. 

     "A survey conducted in the United Kingdom has shown that more than one-third of respondents did not know that transgender women were born biologically male...The poll, which comes from Scottish-based analysis group Murray Blackburn Mackenzie (MBM), showed that 35% of people sampled were of the belief that a transgender woman was someone who was born as a female, or did not know what the term meant." Not surprisingly, the poll showed that the Millennial and Gen Z ages---the demographics most supportive of the LGBTQ Agenda---were the least knowledgeable on the subject. 

    This study was conducted in Britain: one can only imagine what American numbers would look like. There are times when one doesn't even know what to say, or why even bother. I've written several articles on this subject explaining the science and philosophy behind why this lifestyle is dangerous to a society and how media propaganda and agenda-driven academics are behind it. Then you learn that a plurality of those fanatically defending 'trans rights' don't even know what a transsexual is. 

    What do polls like this prove? Simply that decades of absentee parenting, failed schools, and drug abuse have taken their inevitable toll. Can the situation be reversed? It doesn't look promising. As bad as most of us knew that it was, a poll like this shows that it's actually worse. It shows that a major percentage of our people can be stampeded---like cattle---to anywhere that the social engineers and enemies of Liberty care to send them. Under such conditions, appeals to faith or reason is more or less futile. 

    It also highlights the need that the rest of us have to concentrate on our own communities, build networks of like-minded people, and disengage ourselves from the so-called 'mainstream' as much as we can. A cattle stampede will trample whatever is in its way, or push it over the cliff ahead of them. We have to make sure that we don't share the same fate. 

   

   

    

    

    

DAY OF THE ORCA

       Once upon a time here in the Prozac Nation, Memorial Day weekend was the unofficial start of the Summer Season which we all looked forward to with fun activities. These days of course Summers are best known for urban riots over whatever the Outrage of the Week happens to be. Since Memorial Day 2020, the holiday has been altered to the glorious memory of St. George Fentanyl Floyd, the martyrdom of whom to this date have left innocent men rotting in prison and property owners who've never been compensated for the riots which were orchestrated spontaneously broke out. Floyd, it might be recalled, performed the miraculous event of dying three times---according to the Coroner of a Fentanyl overdose and according to the Kangaroo Court trying Derrick Chauvin of both 2nd and 3rd Degree homicide. And some say that postmodern Scientism doesn't perform miracles...

     This Summer is shaping up to be a hot one too: with the Election Cycle farce getting underway; the Media egging on homo violence; and a fake 'Budget Impasse' over how many more trillions of National Debt is going to sell to the Global Financial Elite. June---formerly the month of weddings---is now Pride Month; and Independence Day has been moved to Juneteenth in honor of Critical Race Theory.  Any one of these is a potential flash-point for another False Flag. 

   Some Americans, however, still want to get out in Nature this Summer. To that end, the brilliant staff of Science Editors at the Huffington Post have informed those of us who might venture out onto the seas the most shocking and ground-breaking revelation in Biology since we all learned that gender doesn't really exist. Yes, believe it or not, Orcas are actually dangerous animals which overturn boats and eat people. Apparently, there is a major difference between the actual Ocean and SeaWorld. 

    The problem of Orcas doing these things apparently has Academia, Incorporated stumped, although one might be tempted to attribute it to the high levels of narcotics in the water within their natural habitats. After all, some salmon fisheries in the Pacific Northwest had to be closed a few years ago because of that very problem. And, in the North Atlantic, where the attacks have been increasing, we have seagulls apparently imitating American city-dwellers and assaulting innocent people to get their fix. There are many of us who also believe in a correlation between mass-violence in the United States and narcotic use; but these same scientists dismiss such notions as conspiracy theories. 

    Be that as it may, in 1965 G.L. Herter, now a Dead White Male and CEO of a now-defunct sporting-goods company, published a manual for professional hunters and guides. The following article appeared under the title The Most Dangerous Big Game Animal in the World:

     "The Killer Whale, or Orca, is considered by those who know not only the hardest big game trophy to get but by far is the most dangerous. The trophy on this animal is the lower jawbone with teeth in it. To take out a small boat from 14-16 feet long and go kill an Orca with a rifle really separates men from boys. The Killer Whale just naturally has a bad disposition and is afraid of nothing. He will attack much larger whales with no fear at all and will literally tear them to pieces. They attack sharks, swordfish, and walruses whenever they feel like it. They will attack a small boat, tip out its occupants and eat them with relish. Harpooners in small boats keep away from them entirely."

     In the latter part of the 20th Century, that category of activists whom the late Rush Limbaugh accurately described as environmentalist whackos undertook a campaign to polish the Orca's image. God only knows how many people's deaths they've been responsible for by luring them out into the midst of such dangerous creatures. 

    The City of Seattle adopted the Orca as an unofficial mascot. For those familiar with the kinds of people inhabiting Seattle, the choice of totem that "naturally has a bad disposition," randomly attacks others for no reason at all, and is avoided by productive working people actually seems appropriate. Orcas and Seattlites seem in many ways to be kindred spirits---down to, and including, playing the victim card for PR firms. 

    When it comes to understanding how Nature actually works, it is truly a wonder that more Americans don't become casualties when coming in contact with it. Our postmodern schools and media manufactures morons. Back in the time when organizations like the Boy Scouts meant something different than scouting for boys, young men were exposed to the forces of Nature and learned some respect for it. Over the years, I've seen videos on Youtube---invariably produced by someone of the Millennial or Zoomer age-range--- that contain some of the most stupidly suicidal activities in the environment imaginable. 

   I've seen videos of people getting out of their cars---with their kids no less---because they spotted a family of bears off in the distance. There they are swooning and taking snapchats: blissfully ignorant of the fact that bears are completely unpredictable and that they automatically go into 'flight or fight' mode if even slightly spooked. In the case of mother bears with cubs, 99% of the time, fight-mode comes up and she can cover the length of a football field in about 5-6 seconds when really pressed. 

  I watched another with two dorks who were going to search an abandoned building at night. This place was in bayou country and the area around it had recently flooded. These two dorks waded over a mile in the dark, totally oblivious to the sinkholes and fallen objects underwater which they couldn't see. That, and the fact that alligators often visit these flooded areas to feed at night, as do poisonous snakes. 

  Another pair of geniuses decided to go into a cave which someone had posted a warning sign near. They first thing they saw upon entering was a pile of animal bones: which is a sure sign that one should make a beeline in the opposite direction. The inhabitant of such a cave is highly unlikely to be friendly-disposed to intruders. Nonetheless, Millennial-Man and Zoomer-Boy were undeterred. As they went deeper inside, they heard 'rustling' and 'what sounded like growls'. Their cameras picked up a shadow moving further back and they decided to leave. The shadow looked to me like that of a very large bobcat---if they'd pressed on and cornered that with its back to the wall, they would have gotten a serious reality-check. 

   On a more humorous note, I did watch one video where these campers at night kept finding these mysterious brown pellets around and were picking them up and showing them to the camera. Apparently, they'd never seen deer manure before. 

      It's wise to be prepared when out in Nature, but when ignorance and hubris are brought into the picture, such people are a danger to themselves and others. It never bothered me to take an inexperienced girlfriend or young boy outdoors; they had a natural and healthy fear of the unknown. The know-it-alls, the show-offs, the types who've had 'green' ideology stuffed into their heads: these types should be avoided because they're disasters looking for a place to happen. 

    In other words, Nature is for those who have some elementary connection with Reality. Being out in Nature is a rewarding experience; but don't go swimming with Orcas or wading through swamps at night. Such things might make for viral Youtube videos, but the last in the series is likely to feature some creature's bared teeth before everything goes blank. In this world, lions don't lie down with lambs just yet. 

   

THE ROAD TO OBLIVION

        A recent poll released by the CDC this past week shows the stunning effects of the Conservative movement's belated awakening to the importance of cultural issues. As of now, fewer than 3 in 4 American high-school students 'identify' as heterosexual. This number has nearly doubled since 2015. To put this number in some historical perspective, this is around four times higher than some of the notorious estimates of the number of non-binaries in the 1931 Weimar Republic. 

     All is not lost, though. A survey conducted by Gallup has shown that nearly 25% of the same demographic has no issue with polyamory---free love in group settings---up from 5% just twenty years ago. However, given that about that a fifth of young American men have Testosterone levels below that of an average 70 year-old, and over half are not even looking for a relationship, that doesn't bode especially well for the future.

    An interesting commentary on these trends came from Sociology Professor Eli Sheff: “Perhaps most importantly, younger people have seen that marriage is not all it has been cracked up to be. They have watched their parents cheat on each other and divorce, stay in miserable marriages ‘for the kids,’ and abandon each other when family life becomes inconvenient.”

  Naturally, though, pundits on the Right had no idea that family values were eroding to this level (such things only happen in Liberal families after all)---just like until 2022 they were blissfully unaware that schools and the media were liberally biased. Not to say that the Right hasn't been doing their part: things like promoting delayed sexuality, promoting abstinence instead of sensible sex education, and by setting up artificial social barriers based on 'inappropriate' matters like age differences and school/workplace connections. This includes those based and repilled characters on the Alt-Right fighting against interracial marriages, marriages with immigrants, (and marriages in general). Some Manospherans were cheering the news that bridal companies were going bankrupt and that engagement ring sales are collapsing. The bold 'Alphas' in the MGTOW and Incel movements aren't letting us down though: they've apparently responded to the repeal of Roe vs. Wade by engaging in mass self-sterilization. 

   The Whacko Left Wing---which mostly favors a depopulation agenda---is of course delighted with the news too. They've been trying to spin it as though the Scamdemic was the cause of all of this---not their continual social and legal depreciation of masculinity nor their lax regulation of environmental factors (e.g. food, water, medicines, pollution) could possibility be responsible. And then there's the usual Idiot Wave explanation: it's a new normal and things cyclically change and that we shouldn't be old fuddie-duddies holding on to outmoded and oppressive ideals like monogamous love between the opposite sex and complimentarianism. The fact is that healthy male sexuality has been collapsing for years; today it's simply a problem too obvious to be ignored.

   

     I suppose that for some of us older bachelors out there, this could be positive, since our younger competition is severely reduced. 😇 However, if we hope to have sons of our own someday, the culture that they're going to inherit isn't looking like anything we'd like to leave for them. Besides that, the degradation of young men hasn't exactly had a positive effect on younger women. The CDC survey showed that a whopping 1 in 5 young American women 'identify' as bisexual. As we've also noted in previous articles here; about 1 in 12 women under 30 are clinically infertile and---in a mere two decades---the United States has gone from having one of the world's lowest infant mortality rates to one of the worst in the developed world. That's not even counting the increases in babies born with congenital defects like Autism and drug addiction syndromes. These are even before the effects of the Loyalty Vaxx pushed during the Scamdemic have manifested fully. 

    The birthrate among the native born has been below replacement levels since 1971 and the average number of children per household has dropped by two since 1959. We all of course know---if anywhere near politically aware---that the scumbags in places like the World Economic Forum and the Gates Foundation have been pushing depopulation agendas for years. But there's a difference between a State pushing a tyrannical agenda and the general public willingly going along with it. American parents are ultimately to blame. Nobody forced this situation upon us: we let it happen. The younger generation is coming out exactly as they were made by the previous one. 

    To understand how the Millennials and Gen Z's came to this state, we have but to examine the type of culture that raised them. 

    Postmodern Americans, by and large, are an ignorant and spiritless race, where the Rule of Law is no longer respected but instead people are governed entirely by the arbitrary will of a handful of petty political satraps who rule over them for the sole purpose of sponging from them as large a share of their property and production as possible to support the grandees in Supranational Commerce. Illiteracy is rampant among us, making the population easy prey to succumb to occasional outbursts of rage or hysteria whenever these Financial Oligarchs feel they need stirring up. 

   Utterly apathetic to either political or social affairs, and considering ourselves (as we really are) the despised subjects and de facto slaves of the Moneyed Interests, we have no national or community spirit to keep from falling into the most degraded intellectual poverty and moral degeneracy imaginable. In fact, all throughout human history and even in most of the world today it would be difficult to find a nation more devoid of character than the 21st Century United States has produced, despite all its pretensions to American Exceptionalism. 

   We see from the policies issuing from Government, Academia, and the Media that as a people, we are addicted to the most revolting vices and the most repulsive Scientistic superstitions---think of only two years ago when people were wearing masks and keeping untouchables at a distance to ward off an influenza outbreak with a 99% survival rate. The current race of Americans are always agog for anything novel or scandalous in sexuality and also for new and increasingly potent narcotics: if news headlines and the entertainment media are any indication, they seem to care for little else. In this depressing atmosphere, these credulous fools are easily imposed upon by celebrities, influencers, or any con-artist who knows how to 'work' a crowd. 

    This is the culture that the younger generation came into as infants: that educated and raised them to the age of legal majority. I feel sorry for them in many ways, because they never really had a chance (unlike our generations who knew better). If they seem only to understand Liberty as something to be abused; that is because that's exactly how they were taught. We may chide them for their willingness to sacrifice Liberty for Security: forgetting that they grew up in a milieu where the adults were sacrificing their Liberty for short-term personal gain. It's not that the younger generations lost their Moral Compass: they never had one to begin with. 

    Sadly, the younger generation's education was abandoned to two of the worst social influences imaginable: Academia and Mass-Media. For the most part, they didn't even have churches or positive role models to fall back upon like the kids in our generations did when families let us down. They think that they're 'breaking with the past" without realizing that the road they're taking is leading Civilization a lot closer to the 22nd Century B.C. than the 22nd A.D. 

    

      How we as a society can address this problem is a good question. We've lost two generations (literally as well as figuratively) and are on a trajectory to lose a third. Our own selfishness, stupidity, and hubris have brought us to this point; and they aren't going to be solved simply by exchanging one political despot for another. Our society's problem is a spiritual one. It's going to take acknowledging the errors of the past 30 or so years and repudiating them on a wholesale basis. Somehow, I have my doubts that we have it left in us to do that. 

THE POSTMODERN DARK AGE

        In case everybody missed it, aside from Saturday's hoopla over Earth Day, there was something better that went mostly unnoticed on Sunday.

     I certainly did my part on this one; visiting the few remaining bookstores in the area and collecting a few more of the words and experiences of Dead White Males (along with a cookbook or two 😇). 

   When we actually had functional schools in the United States, we were taught to respect books. Today in the Prozac Nation, reading is actually discouraged. In one of the first posts at this blog---seven years ago---we detailed the disgraceful results of one of the last comprehensive studies done on American literacy. Since that report was released, nothing has been done to address the problem. In fact, our Elites praise cultures that burn books, while stigmatizing ones which promote literacy. In a culture where memes and aphorisms pass for reasoned argument and stand-up comics and sportscasters pass for great intellectuals, 400+ page theses are not going to be held in much of anything but contempt. 

   It's not just reading which has suffered; apparently writing is apparently no longer considered a subject of any major importance. The other day, I wrote a note to some elderly woman and she complimented my handwriting, then added: "You know, they don't teach that cursive writing in school any more."

     Postmodern America has truly become a breeding-ground for morons. The amount of time it seems like many of us expend trying to explain basic concepts like 'why there are only two genders' and 'why the Earth isn't flat' is really shocking when one thinks about it. The stupidity cuts across political spectrums too. The Left looks up to complete idiots like Yuval Harari, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Richard Carrier; while the Right has mental midgets like Victor Hanson, Dennis Prager, and Doug Wilson. Both freely indulge in pseudoscience too; the Scientism of the Left is well-documented; but the Right's embrasure of foolishness like Evolutionary Psychology and Racial Theories are just as bad.

    Despite what many Americans seem to believe, Critical Thinking skills are an outgrowth of Literacy. The reason that public schools (at least used to) try and get children to read an early age was because scientists (real ones) knew that abstract reasoning begins to develop around age 12. Some of the Academic charlatans on the Right tout their universities with "Great Books Series." In reality, we were reading Homeric poems around 4th Grade and Cicero and Pliny in High School. Late in High School and early in college, English studies advanced beyond Grammar and Literature to studies like Linguistics, Philology, Logic, Rhetoric, etc.---courses which taught literary analysis. I recall taking courses late in high school where we analyzed advertising, speeches, propaganda and so forth. None of this is taught outside a few mostly Catholic parochial schools and colleges; and the Junta would be delighted to close most of them down. 

    

    In America, we've always had our share of dorks; but one of our advantages was that we lacked a hereditary monarchy of inbreds which gave the general population a wide latitude of freedom of the mind. We benefited greatly from immigration of people with intelligence who couldn't rise above the restrictions and social limitations by the nobility's hired flatterers in the churches and universities. This changed after WW2 for two major reasons:

   1. The advent of television, which dumbed down audiences and pandered to the lowest common denominator to make them more susceptible to advertising.

   2. A major push during the post-war period to turn higher education into a commodity as opposed to a profession.

   Like a lot of our problems today, widespread ignorance and overt anti-intellectualism is promoted because vested interests profit from it. Obviously it is in the interests of both the political and economic Oligarchy to rule over a majority incapable of critical thought. Just as intellect and innovation were dangerous to Ruling Classes of old Europe; their successors in the Uniparty and on Wall Street likewise consider them dangerous. This is why control of the schools became important and since the mid-20th Century we've increasingly seen American parents abdicate such responsibilities, leaving their offspring to participate in the great Paper Chase.

   Thus, the average university today is really nothing more than a pay-to-play scam and so-called 'Academics' often find themselves pressured to support (or become willing accomplices of) the interests of their benefactors, including governments and private entities that fund grants. In fact, it is widely argued that this is trained into them in education, as the same pressures are exerted by teachers and professors upon their students. So the cycle of corruption and ignorance continues. 

   Sadly, this is a problem with no easy solution. The aforementioned cycle is one that is self-reinforcing. Though ignorance and illiteracy contribute to social deterioration, the corrupt system upon which it is erected depends upon public gullibility and credulousness for its support. What we need is a new Enlightenment of some sort; one that extols knowledge and opposes fraud. Whether we have it in us to accomplish this is an open question.  

    

AMERICA SAVED FROM WEATHER BALLOON THREAT

   After a brief but fairly intensive LARP and subsequent national panic attack, our nominal Head-of-State got tired of being called a weenie by the Alphas in the Controlled Opposition and ordered the Chinese meteorological craft 'spy balloon' to be shot down. Our military was surprisingly successful---no doubt due to their long experience in attacking unarmed positions. Without a doubt, the brave pilot of this venture was someone who represents diversity and will probably receive a promotion and a Congressional Medal of Honor for the heroic deed. Americans can now rest easy until the next National Emergency and it's rumored that local hookah lounges and sports bars will be carrying live 24/7 coverage of the story on Big Screen (masks and vaxx passports required). 

   Fortunately, upon waking up this morning, the supermarket shelves hadn't been stripped of toilet paper, bottled water, or Russian vodka like our last two national panic attacks. Evidently, the either the people in the cities can't afford gas to get here, or the effects of the anti-anxiety meds from last night hadn't worn off yet. Thus, thankfully we've been spared one more international embarrassment; but at least the Pfizer Scandal is off the front page. 

   On social media and most news pages last night, Americans were seeing Spy Balloons and little green men with Made in China labels on their spacesuits everywhere. No doubt this will continue for the next few days, as the story garnered huge media ratings and made massive political capital for both parties. I don't want to waste too much time going over the hallucinations and paranoia being discussed in these venues. We'll probably be treated to Congressional Hearings and proposed bans on balloons before it's all over. But one commenter on a foreign news site I think brought up a point worth discussing:

    Guys like this should be thankful they don't have to live here and deal with it. I've noticed it for a long time. It's hilarious, though somewhat sad, to see continual polls to the effect that Americans don't trust the government; don't trust the media; think that Wall Street is giving them the shaft---without seeing the irony that the very same cabal practically programs their own minds. The average Ameroboob wouldn't believe that it was raining outside unless he got a verified source from the National Weather Service to tell him so. 

    Decades of intergenerational drug abuse, dumbed-down schools, and servile media have crippled most Americans' capacity for critical thought. Mentioning China in any news story today is like waving a red flag in front of a bull. As if that's not already bad enough, the Oligarchs are already moving to implement the 2023 WEF Agenda and crack down even harder on anybody dissenting from the Official Narrative. I'd think that Americans would be a little more concerned about losing the 1st Amendment than the Chinese finding out that there's traffic congestion in Kansas City. My intuition, however, tells me that they aren't.

   It's gotten to the point now where those of us who don't buy into the Narrative really need to be concerned; because what this latest incident showed us is that not only are we sinking into cultural Barbarism, we're becoming a Barbarian Culture which also has access to advanced technology---including atomic weapons. When I've visited countries in Latin America, a saying I frequently heard about Foreign Policy was: "When you have a man like Castro running Cuba, the whole region has a problem. You put a man like that in charge of the United States and the whole world is going to have a problem." 

   Reflect on how close we are to that. When you read the idiotic reactions to a stray balloon in news comments; combined with a financial despotism of 'woke' fanatics and a dumbed-down, doped-up, and egocentric population demanding Alpha strongmen and pseudo-scientists to lead them---then simple logic ought to tell us that it's only a matter of time before the Doomsday Clock strikes Midnight. As for Chinese spying, don't imagine that they don't read our news media, or listen to American opinions, or hear the plans of politicians and Oligarchs and aren't preparing to defend themselves. Our pundits can sneer all they want to, and carry on like a (now practically inevitable) Sino-American War is going to be like a college homecoming game with a big frat party afterwards. Personally I don't think that underestimating China and mistaking their patience for weakness is a good idea.
