PANIC ATTACKS AND POWER GRABS

Well, like a lot of other blog-writers and vlog-producers, we've been finding out that our promises to ignore the COVID-19 hysteria is easier said than done. This whole thing is turning into one big Domino Effect. The Liberals and the Media inflamed the situation to cause a panic that they could blame on President Trump. Some elements of the populace panicked and are now out of control. Liberal politicians and Wall Street freebooters are seeing a chance to use the chaos to grab power and profit. The panic worsens, and so on.

President Trump is caught in the middle of all this. The Administration's really done about all it can do. In fact, they've probably done some things that weren't even necessary, just to try and calm things down. Over the weekend, though, arch-RINO Governor Mike DeWine, and the usual Left-Wing troublemakers--- Cuomo, Newsom, and Inslee---took the draconian step of shutting down private businesses. Restaurants, bars, and lounges are indefinitely closed in Ohio, New York, California, and Washington. Other governors are vying to see who can put the hammer down fastest.

Can governors legally do this? Unfortunately, they can. On a large scale nationwide, it hasn't happened since 1919; and among a few localities into the 1940's. And those were because of real threats to public health---not some new form of the flu that 98% of the infected fully recover from.

So what happens to all these jobs that are going to be lost and small businesses that will close? The answer is that none of these so-called 'Elites' actually care. If their actions cause an economic downturn; all the better---they can blame Trump for that, too. The smart boys and the sharpers on Wall Street can swoop in and pick up the pieces.

That's the picture behind the curtain; and the American people need to put down the Prozac and the Hookah pipes, and start screwing their eyeballs back into their empty skulls before it's too late. We didn't stop the Deep State dead in its tracks in 2016 just to surrender our freedoms, did we?

We need to start to pushing back. Yesterday, President Trump denounced panic buying, and a brave scientists and what's left of American journalism has begun to speak out. Here's some links to keep yourselves informed:

  1. I noticed the bottom one already. All those people standing in long lines at grocery stores are just breathing each other's air. That'll just increase their chances of catching what the other guy has...

I guess people just don't use their heads.

The few testimonials about having this virus label it as "a flu"

We've all had flus in our lifetimes, and the flu always kills 2% or so each year...

    This is nothing new...

    Just the panic is new...

    1. The seasonal flu has a death rate of .1% of people who become infected. Cornavirus 19 has a death rate anywhere between 1.4% to 2%. We have 300 million people in the US. Worst case, say 150 million get infected with CV19. At 2% that is 3 million dead. At the flu rate of .1% that is 150,000 dead.

The yearly death rate from all causes runs at slightly under 1% with 2.8 million deaths last year.

The USA only has 90,000 ICU beds. But hey, we are in better shape than the socialists in the EU, who with a slightly bigger population only have 70,000 ICU beds.

The 1918 Spanish Flu had a death rate of about 2%, it also had a transmission rate of roughly 2. Meaning each person who contracts it will on average give it to 2 other people. The seasonal flu has a transmission rate of 1.4. CV19 is 2.2.

Just some facts, you can do with them what you want.

    2. The average age of a fatality from COVID-19 is 81. The mortality rate among affected Seniors is 20%. That's what's skewing the numbers. There haven't been any fatalities among children, that I know of. So the probability of half the US getting infected isn't very high.

One thing they learned in China is that this virus has a very short lifespan. It also dies in high outdoor temperatures---note there have been very few cases in South America, Tropical Africa, or the Arab countries. As for the 1918 virus, we have much better means to deal with it today. Ebola was a much deadlier and more contagious virus than COVID-19, but it was stopped by clear thinking and swift action.

    3. People also forget that the reason the Spanish Flu killed so many people is because young adults were no less likely to die to this disease than the very young and the elderly. This is not the case with this disease. Also there's this thing called World War I which destroyed most of the Western World and had our young men living in very dirty trenches. That probably didn't help either.

  2. Good post. The fear will pass or people will run out of money, whatever comes first. Either way, it will give stores time to restock and catch up, so what you need will soon become available. Closing down bars and restaurants is a real bummer economically, but on the bright side if you own a restaurant or work in one, you're probably a survivor already. Chuckling, but most of us don't have an "economy" to crash. As usual, this is a psychological game, as in fear is the enemy. If we can all keep our heads, we'll all be just fine.

  3. You only confirm what has been nagging at me ever since this insanity began! Namely, I simply can't imagine the panic that this new virus is causing! And the lost jobs in the restaurant business is a crime!! When will cooler heads - and THE TRUTH!! - prevail?!?

    1. Its a chain of dominoes too. People in businesses that shut down won't be able to pay mortgage or rent - buy food... I wonder how this will pan out...

  4. I just read online that 80,000 Americans died from the flu in 2018. I had that one. It was bad, but manageable.

Far worse than the swine flu at 12,000 deaths.

But no panic on that one.
