If we're to believe the Corporate-funded American Media and the fake outrage spewing from the Administration, NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani is a Communist, which, to their dumbed-down audiences, is anybody who isn't 100% behind their vision of the New World Order. Already, some of Mamdani's appointments are raising eyebrows on the Left, and it appears that actual Communists (the real kind) are less than happy with Mamdani's Transition Team.
Mamdani basically did what the Republicans did in 2024: he posed as a Populist and channeled hatred of the Establishment over a thin Platform onto which voters could project all of their Wishful Thinking. Democrat voters ignored the obvious wire-pulling going on behind the scenes by Globalist Special Interests, even when egregious warning-signs were obvious. In Mandami's case, the linked article from the World Socialist Web Site points out that, during the campaign, "Since winning the Democratic primary in June, Mamdani has worked to reassure the corporate and financial elite by meeting with executives and real estate moguls. He issued an apology to the New York Police Department (NYPD) for previously calling to defund it, and pledging to retain Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, a veteran of the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau and heiress to one of the wealthiest families in the United States."
Many of Mandami's appointments are connected to former mayors Bill de Blasio, Michael Bloomberg, and Eric Adams, the latter of whom was indicted in 2024 for various acts of corruption, but current DOJ figurehead Pam Bondi---herself a former lobbyist for WEF-connected firms Amazon and Uber---dropped the charges. Adams has been a visitor to Mar-a-Lago and other events surrounding the Trump Administration. Various interests within the Administration have been touting Adams as a potential Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, which, as we've noted here, is a key player in Big Tech's plans to create Smart Cities and implement Digital Surveillance programs in the United States.
An especially interesting pick on Mamdani's Team is Lina Khan, a former member of Biden's Federal Trade Commission who was supported heavily by Trump's own Transition Team for a place in the new Administration. The WSWS article notes that "Under Khan’s tenure at the FTC, employee morale declined significantly, according to surveys conducted by other government agencies. Khan also imposed a ban on public statements by staff," which already sounds like an excellent resume for any Executive-level position in this Administration. J.D. Vance apparently thought so, saying that Lina Khan was “one of the few people in the Biden administration that I think is doing a pretty good job;” and Neo-Nazi Advisor Steve Bannon opined “I would be a huge supporter of Lina Khan remaining, and I would love to see her given more power.” She ended up not being held over, though, evidently having more urgent purposes in the New York Mayoral Race.
This, of course, is not an endorsement of the World Socialist Party; but it is a sad commentary on the state of the American Media when things like this are pointed out by Communists but wholly ignored by the so-called 'Conservative' Media. At least WSWS seems to understand that both parties are wholly owned and subservient to the interests of Globalist Corporatism: even if their understanding of Sociology and Economics has some radical flaws, it doesn't gainsay the fact that Mamdami is no more than Controlled Opposition, in the larger context of the Strategy of Tension. The larger question is: when is the American Right going to see it and start speaking out?
