So today there was another high-profile shooting, this time in Dallas, Texas. The target was a State Security Police ICE facility, and---as in the recent Kirk shooting---cartridges were conveniently left with anti-ICE messages. Also, like the Kirk shooting, we have little to no actual information on the suspect, but the Media Machinery is in overdrive blaming the nebulous 'Left' (i.e. anybody not deemed sufficiently loyal to the New Order). No ICE agents were killed or injured: the only casualties were abductees prisoners detained by ICE. Some have speculated that agents were, in fact, the intended targets but found that immigrants were suitable as human shields. It's unknown if that's true, but given the character of the types of people working for ICE these days, it wouldn't be surprising.
The American Public, which has minuscule attention-spans, is being spoon-fed the new Official Narrative that political violence only happens on the Left (sort of the reverse of what the same narrative was only a few years ago). Political violence committed by Conservative or 'Right-Wing' elements was actually rare until just recently. The 2020s, however, have seen a new acceptance of political violence from the so-called 'Right.' This is to be expected, since what today is termed the 'Conservative Right' is actually the Reactionary Left; and they naturally imitate the tactics and rhetoric of the Left whenever and wherever possible.
Throughout the last two years, we have seen 'Conservative' and 'Christian' influencers celebrating murderers of immigrants and killers who've hunted protesters and employed lethal force when it wasn't necessary. They encouraged property damage against their perceived 'enemies.' They've gloated over sadistic treatment of immigrants by thugs like Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis. They've held up brutal dictators like Bukele, Netanyahu, and Zelensky as heroes whom our leaders should imitate. Even the now-sanctified Charlie Kirk published enemies' lists and celebrated the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband. Recently, a Fox News host called for extermination of the homeless, and this isn't the first time such a thing has been suggested.
Much of this rhetoric has borne actual fruit. Phenix Ikner, who shot five people at Florida State University in April was a member of Kirk's Turning-Point USA. Vance Boetler shot two Democrat Legislators in Minnesota and was found with a 'hit list' of other intended targets. The mass-shooter at Evergreen High School was found in possession of White Supremacist and Neo-Nazi literature.
In the wake of the Kirk shooting, the calls for violence, which have been smoldering for some time, have grown in intensity. The obvious danger in all of this is that such advocacy is sanctioned by the Government itself.
The Administration has not only summarily purged people not showing sufficient loyalty to their designated martyr Charlie Kirk; they are actively encouraging their followers to denounce persons in the private sector to authorities for blacklisting. Yet it doesn't stop there. The Administration is already moving to designate political opposition as terrorists---in the same category as ISIS or Al-Qaeda---and across Social Media have fomenting revaunche under the Color of Law.
Neo-Nazi Stephen Miller, the White House Deputy Chief-of-Staff, has been at the forefront of egging on these calls for violent government crackdowns. Even before the Kirk shooting, Miller was already labeling political opponents as targets for Police-State action.
Shortly after the Kirk shooting, Miller and Vice-President J.D. Vance publicly confessed that they were working with Kirk on a plan to identify opponents targeted for suppression. All of these things have met with stony silence---if not outright glorification---from the so-called Christian Conservatives in the United States.
“We are in a spiritual battle; the same murderous spirit that raged against the prophets, that crucified Christ and martyred Stephen is raging again in our day.” ---Rob McCoy, pastor of the Megachurch that Kirk attended.
“We saw that with Stephen, and saw it with Charlie. When you speak divine truth to the powers of darkness, the cost can be very high.”---Mormon Cult pastor Bob Lonsberry.
"You have no idea what forces you've unleashed!" ---Erika Kirk, Charlie's domestic partner.
“Fight for Charlie Kirk! Romans 13 calls for godly rulers to wield the sword against the terror of evil men in our nation!” Benny Johnson, Christian Nationalist and TPUSA operative.
"It is the progressive left that has now taken the bait. Their addiction to violence as the key to everything they want and petulantly demand is now impossible to deny. They will try to deny it anyway, and so now is the time for us to accept nothing less than absolute and unconditional surrender...This was a political murder and it is not out of line to treat it as though it were a political murder. This means that everyone on the left needs to answer for this."---Pastor Doug Wilson, White Supremacist and Christian Nationalist overlord of Pete Hegseth's denomination.
The Kirk Shooting, and more importantly, the words and actions in its aftermath are a test for where Christian Conservatives in America actually stand. Their continual willingness to cave in when Civil Liberties have been threatened before was bad enough; but this time, we're not only seeing Faith under attack: we're seeing its wholesale co-opting unfolding. Are we going to stand by idly and let the Faith be hijacked by Prosperity-Gospel charlatans, cultish Megachurches, and Christian Nationalist/Supremacist fanatics? Or will some stand and speak out?
