A RIDDLE FOR ALT-RIGHT ANTI-SEMITES

Today, UNESCO voted in favor of a resolution submitted by the Palestinian Authority denying Israel's claim to the section of Jerusalem now the site of the Al-Asqa Mosque and Western Wall. The Mosque is built on the site of the former Temple of Herod which was destroyed by the Romans at the beginning of the Jewish Diaspora.

The 58-member UNESCO board voted 24-6, with 26 abstentions, to deny claims that the Jews had any legal or historical claims to the sites. Despite heavy lobbying from Israel, the UNESCO Resolution read:

"Islamic freedom of worship is being hindered by escalating aggressions and illegal measures. We condemn the continuous storming of Al-Asqa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Sharif by the Israeli right-wing extremists and uniformed forces, as well as forcible entry by so-called 'Israeli Antiquities' officials."

The US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Lithuania were the six nations voting against the Resolution; which passed in spite of US suspension of paying UNESCO dues in protest. Reaction in Israel was predictably furious. Under the provisions of the new law, Jews are allowed to visit the site, but are forbidden from entering Islamic holy sites or reciting Jewish prayers and texts. Israeli leaders are calling for active resistance to the UNESCO mandate. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that "UNESCO had forfeited any moral authority" by today's decision.

So here is a question to all those on the Alt-Right, Neo-Nazis, and Manospherians who tell us continually that there is a powerful international clique of Jews pulling the wires on the whole world. How does it happen that this International Jewish Conspiracy cannot even get UNESCO to acknowledge that the Temple Mount and the Wailing Wall are legitimate Jewish cultural and religious sites?

Somehow, though, we don't expect an answer to that question...
