Despite the efforts of President Trump and Pope Francis, the battle to save the life of British infant Charlie Gard has failed and the boy's parents given up the legal battle. President Trump made an attempt to bring the child and his family to the US for an experimental medical treatment. Amoral British judges were blocking the treatment to push their pro-euthanasia agendas.
Hope was lost for the Gards when Dr. Michio Hirano, the American neurosurgeon involved, announced that tests had revealed that the child's condition had radically deteriorated during the legal battle. Had he been able to come to the US earlier, Dr. Hirano may have saved him, but the intervening time has rendered Charlie Gard's condition irreversible.
No doubt to the delight of Left-Wing whackos on both sides of the Atlantic, Charlie Gard will be taken off life-support within the next few days.
President Trump hasn't yet issued a statement, but Pope Francis urged prayer for the Gard family and that the Church reach out to them with aid and consolation. Like Trump, Francis was personally involved in the case and made an appeal to the EU. British Catholics had organized a petition directly to Queen Elizabeth, which presented to her Court at Buckingham Palace. President Trump also confronted British Prime Minister May at the G-20 Summit and offered US assistance.
Charlie Gard was suffering from a rare condition called Mitochondrial Depletion Syndrome, which effects infants. Globally, there are only about two dozen cases annually. Dr. Hirano is one of the world's few experts on MDS. There are no doctors capable of treating it in Britain.
Father Francesco Giordano, of Human Rights International told CNA News that we need to begin a new dialogue on medical ethics and called socialized medicine into question. With the Obamacare Repeal Debate in full swing, it's a sure bet that the Corporate Media and their chums in Big Pharma will never let the Gard Case be discussed publically.
The problem with Socialized Medicine isn't simply the horrendous amount of fraud, such as HHS and the Justice Department have been uncovering. Even in efficiently managed systems like Europe has, Socialized Medicine eventually degenerates into a cost-benefit paradigm rather than a care-based model. Ultimately, in such systems medical bureaucrats make the final decisions---not about the level of care---but about the cost-effectiveness of treatments and allocations of taxpayer resources. In theory, Socialized Medicine might actually work in a theocratic country like Iran where doctors are subject to ecclesiastical oversight. But in a secularist system, cases like the Gards' are inevitable.
Part of the tragedy too is that the Gards raised charitable funds to pay for private care in the US. This shows the falsity of the Left-Wing argument that private healthcare is unavailable to the poor. But even in the Free Market, doctors must be bound by ethics and their ultimate duty. It used to be the case that doctors donated services occasionally until greedy trial lawyers, predatory insurance cartels, and power-mad bureaucrats ended that along with the era of House Calls.
Father Giordano also pointed out the deeper problem of a 'Euthanasia Mentality' where human beings are treated as expendable. The idea has long been promoted by the same people who promote Abortion and Population Control. It is rooted in selfish desire of many to enjoy limited resources by prohibiting others from using them. The rational course, though, is to use technology to accommodate larger populations. In spite of being officially an Atheist country, China has come to realize this. They've abandoned their population controls and euthanasia and have begun investing in new technologies to deal with their high population. And the new policy has worked much better for China already.
So, barring Divine Intervention, this sad episode in human history will come to a tragic end. But maybe Charlie Gard will not have died in vain. His parents plan to use the monies raised to found a research fund to cure MDS. Maybe it will cause a new discussion over the future of medicine in post-BREXIT Britain, as well as within the EU and the US as well.

TRUMP SCORES TWO MAJOR FOREIGN POLICY WINS
As a direct consequence of President Trump's participation at the G-20 Summit earlier this month, two major foreign policy achievements came to fruition today---involving Russia and China, respectively.
The first win was the announcement that the CIA black-budget operations in Syria are terminated. The US will no longer arm and train terrorists---or, as Obama called them, moderate rebels. Russia welcomed the move.
Obama and his Deep-State henchmen wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on this stupid and counter- productive program. Besides the fact that they were responsible for protracting the war, they also destabilized much of the region as these weapons often ended up on the Black Market. The growing realization by Trump that he had been lied to about the character of the Syrian government is reflected in the move.
Russia and Syria weren't the only countries relieved by Trump's decision. Relations with Turkey and Iraq were also strained by the policy. The arrogant Obama made the situation even worse by treating Turkey and Iraq as though they were US vassalages who had to support the policy however detrimental to their own interests. Hopefully, the next move will be restoration of diplomatic ties with Syria and an end to the embargo.
The second diplomatic success came with the conclusion of the first Comprehensive Economic Dialogue (CED). This was a bilateral summit set up by the US and China and the G-20. The CED will hold regular meetings to work out long-standing issues between the two countries. The US was represented by Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and Commerce Secretary Ross. Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang represented his country.
Lu Kang, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said today, "The most significant achievement of the economic dialogue is acknowledging a common direction for Sino-US economic cooperation. Both sides regard win-win cooperation as the underlying principle in developing stronger bilateral ties."
Both sides agreed that the Trade Deficit was a major problem. China indicated interest in importing more American goods---especially in technology and agriculture. Many of these commodities are restricted by US export laws. The two countries agreed to a draft proposal for a Comprehensive Economic Plan.
The Summit was held in Washington; but the boorish behavior of the American Media led both sides to cancel the press conference scheduled afterwards. The Media has been putting out fake-news about the summit, and their coverage and conduct was universally criticized by the Chinese press. America's media is truly becoming an international embarrassment.
Similarly, the Media was howling outrage over the new Syrian Policy. But time will prove all these Deep State dunces wrong and today was a major forward step in draining the diplomatic swamp.

TRUMP INTERVENES IN CHARLIE GARD CASE
While largely blacked out by the US Corporate Media, the British media has been reporting that President Trump intervened in the Charlie Gard Case during a meeting with British PM May at the recent G-20 Summit. The President allegedly solicited a brief meeting with May at the Summit to address this very issue.
We haven't written about the Gard Case here as of yet; but the story has been covered on many Conservative blogs. Charlie Gard is an infant, diagnosed with a fatal disease and currently on life-support in a British hospital. His parents wish to take him to the US for an experimental treatment, but an arrogant British judge has been blocking their attempts over some Eurocrat so-called Death With Dignity statute. Pope Francis brought the case to world attention and---according to some sources---spoke to President Trump about it as well.
This vile British barrister, according to Metro UK News, is digging in his heels and snorting about Yankees and Romanists not telling him what to do. A typical Leftist hypocrite.
But there are positive signs on the horizon. The Pope's activism has prompted 37 EU parliamentarians to sign an open letter to PM May; and group led by Father Patrick Mahoney gathered at Buckingham Palace to present a request for intervention by the Queen. And Trump's pressure on London is also bearing fruit: the British announced that there is a loophole in their laws which may allow officials to circumvent the Court if the Americans provide evidence that our treatments have a 'reasonable chance of success'. So it is quite likely that the Gards will be able to come here, after all this red tape is sorted out. This is a sad specimen of what 50 years of Socialism does to a country's leadership. It's seriously doubtful whether Disraeli, Lloyd George, or Churchill would have spent much time debating with foolish bureaucrats over this.
The story also illustrates what kind of fundamental change has happened in the White House. Whatever happens to Charlie Gard, President Trump deserves credit for this kind of humanitarian intervention. Recall that just a decade or so ago, we had the Terry Schiavo Case which was very similar. That case ended tragically after a villainous judge ordered Schiavo cold-bloodedly murdered in the most inhumane fashion. Though former Pope John Paul II also spoke out, the RINO Bush Brothers---President Junior and Governor Jeb---turned a blind eye to the horrid proceedings.
Not so President Trump. And his actions should a warning to ghoulish Leftists as to how he will act if another Schiavo Case comes up in the US. It illustrates once again that ending the reign of the Deep State effects everyone on a personal level.

MELANIA SWEEPS PARIS
President Trump and French President Macron, both political newcomers leading major powers, left the G-20 together for a summit of their own in Paris. The two leaders have been discussing further issues of mutual interest; most notably trade, Middle Eastern policy, and France's position in the EU and NATO.
The French people, though, have found themselves quite captivated by First Lady Melania Trump. The European Press has been following her closely; from some of her charitable activities to what her outfit-of-the-day is. Melania's elegance and femininity resonates with Europeans who've been disgusted with American womanhood: personified most recently by the likes of Hillary Clinton and Michele Obama.
As Americans are predominantly descended from European stock, there has always been a measure of rivalry among the Fair Sex for which are the trend-setters. Europe has held the lead for some time; witness the fact that Melania herself was born in Yugoslavia. In a way, Melania seems to be setting a welcome trend. There hasn't been a higher-than-usual interest in European women among American men since Melania became First Lady. There has though been a growing trend among American women to emulate Melania's traits.
Melania's popularity is obviously perplexing the Corporate Media and the Cultural Marxists who've been writing and tweeting snotty remarks about both Mrs. Trump and the French First Lady, Brigitte Macron. It's been these perverts and radical feminists who've been responsible for cultivating negative trends among American women for the last three decades.
Americans by and large have forgotten that there was a time when European men actually used to come to America---drawn by the beauty of American women. Melania's reception in Paris is reminiscent of the days when a glamorous First Lady's visit was anticipated by the Parisians:
Only a few years before Mrs. Kennedy became the Talk of Paris, a Philadelphia girl turned Hollywood starlet was romanced and married to the dashing Crown Prince of Monaco:
Despite both Feminist and Red Pill mythologies, American women are rediscovering the fact that there is actual value in Femininity. Hating men, competing with men, scorning men as inferiors: none of these attitudes are qualities attractive to normal people of either sex. Feminists hate femininity of envy and neurotic misandry; Red Pills despise it because they can't earn a valuable female and also because of their latent homosexual tendencies.
Draining the Swamp---from a cultural standpoint---means rejecting the phony philosophies of these self-styled Cultural Elites and doing what's always worked instead. Melania is leading by example: and, as an American immigrant, she's perfectly positioned to rebuild that connection that American and European women always had.

XI AND TRUMP MEET AT G-20
Following the dynamic meeting between Presidents Putin and Trump; the President of China, Xi Jinping held a much-awaited meeting with the US leader. Relations between the two countries have hit a few roadblocks. The RINOs in the State and Defense Departments have continued Obama's policies of pressuring China by military and economic provocation.
Xi impressed upon Trump the futility of continuing these policies. He expressed considerably empathy, though, with Trump's position vis-à-vis his own. "The Sino-US relationship is determined by reality, not by tough rhetoric." said a spokesman for the Chinese Government, "Beijing is willing to develop stable ties with Washington and meanwhile stick to its bottom line on issues concerning his national interest. This has determined Beijing's attitude on matters that Washington is concerned about. The US' China policy---intertwined with different interests---is often unpredictable...Washington will gradually realize that Beijing has little room to make concessions in the face of US pressure."
Trump seemed more or less inclined to agree, calling the meeting 'excellent.' The main accomplishment of the meeting is that both countries agreed to set up a bilateral high-level commission to work out US-China economic policy and prevent escalations in tensions. This was a brilliant move on Trump's part. The new commission will allow Trump considerable latitude to deal with China pragmatically without pressure from American anti-China interests. The first meeting is scheduled for July 19th.
"There are still forces in US strategic circles calling for being tough on China. They like neither China nor Trump, and instigate Trump to counter China. They hope that the Washington-Beijing relationship will see major problems. The Trump Administration has not been as tough on China as expected. This annoys those who wanted to see more of Trump's aggressive personality displayed towards China."
Absolutely. Once again, the editors of The Global Times see the issue with twice the clarity of the US Corporate Media. Trump, as a businessman, completely understands the mentality of the Chinese leadership---which is essentially a corporation itself. The problem that Trump has encountered is that both the majority of his constituents and his enemies in the Deep State are deeply anti-Chinese. Obama especially hated and envied the Chinese owing to his childhood in Indonesia and days as a Chicago 'activist'. This came out in his foreign policy very clearly.
Trump and Xi are both economically-minded men who'd rather cooperate in mutually profitable trade than engage in a mutually destructive war. That could refer both to trade wars or military conflict. As Xi stated, this is reality, not rhetoric. We've reached a point in world history where Sino-US conflict is mutually assured destruction, whether hardliners on either side of the Pacific like it or not.
This isn't to say that Xi doesn't deal with anti-American elements in the CPC as well---there is still a strong Maoist faction in Chinese politics who are locked in a Cold War mentality. That's why this bilateral commission was such a master-stroke by Trump. It allows for a gradual---but necessary---thaw in relations much like the US-Soviet Détente pioneered by the Nixon Administration. We never had such a directed dialogue with China, but it is none to late to begin.
The two presidents also discussed North Korea, THAAD, and the pending Taiwan arms' deal. Nothing was really resolved on these issues other than a resolution by both parties to refrain from any unilateral actions. Overall, though, the meeting was a success and Xi Jinping clearly has greater respect for Trump than for Obama.

RINO NIKKI HALEY BASHES TRUMP ON CNN
RINO UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is once again undermining the President's foreign policy and usurping his authority. After a week of feuding between the White House and CNN, Haley appeared on that network to disparage the historic meeting between Presidents Putin and Trump before a hostile audience. This occurred only a few months after President Trump warned Haley to stop speaking out-of-turn.
After the meeting, both Trump and Putin acknowledged that the fake-news about Russian election-hacking had been discussed, and that Trump accepted Putin's denial. Even the Corporate Media is beginning to back off 'Russiagate'; especially since CNN itself was caught by Project Veritas fabricating most of their stories and sources for ratings.
So Haley instead betrayed the President by going to his avowed enemies and spinning the story as though Trump had covered up 'Russiagate' and demanded that Putin cease interfering.
"Everybody knows that Russia meddled in the election." Haley spouted the DNC talking-points, "They're not just doing this in the US, but in multiple countries to sow international chaos."
Haley also stated falsely that Trump accused Putin of election-meddling and demanded that he stop. She expressed hope that other nations would follow suit and begin resisting Russia.
This isn't the first time that Haley has sold out to Left-Wing interests. As governor of South Carolina, she initiated the nationwide ban on Confederate flag displays and supported the removal of historic Civil War monuments. She also came out in favor of Open Borders and was originally a supporter of Jeb Bush. As UN Ambassador, she's frequently presented false evidence---provided by Soros-funded front groups---against various countries like Syria and North Korea which have led to actual and near armed conflicts.
Republican Party and Conservative activists should not overlook this latest affront to President Trump. Haley crossed a definite line by going to the President's enemies and misrepresenting his position on Russia. We urge all Trump-supporters to demand that President and GOP leadership remove Nikki Haley from office at once and fill the UN seat with someone who supports the President and his positions.

DEEP STATE SABOTAGING THE G-20
President Trump today had an over two-hour meeting with President Vladimir Putin, the leader of the Free World and Defender of Christianity and Civilization. By many accounts, the meeting was highly productive as Trump sat awestruck in the presence of an experienced leader.
The Corporate Media---which hates Putin as passionately as they hate Trump---was barred from the closed-door meeting by the mutual agreement of both presidents. Putin did speak to the Russian media afterwards and said that he had a positive impression of Trump. They discussed such issues as the Syrian Civil War; the North Korean 'crisis'; Ukraine, illegally confiscated Russian diplomatic property; economic sanctions; and Russian nationals illegally detained in US jails.
It must have occurred to President Trump that every single one of these issues was instigated by his Deep State predecessors. That includes the phony 'Russiagate' scandals which the Corporate Media was quick to pounce upon---in spite of it being now exposed as a completely groundless hoax.
Putin also stressed to Trump that international affairs have been in limbo for the US generally because of the number of ambassadors yet to be replaced. 'Rainbow Rex' Tillerson---who hasn't replaced a single Obama-era ambassador nor changed State Department personnel in six months---must have blushed at Putin's suggestion.
Outside, in the streets of the degenerate city of Hamburg, German paramilitary forces were dealing with Soros-funded radicals who've been trying to sabotage the meeting with violent incidents. Water-cannons gave many Anarchists the first baths they've had in months. So far, the German police have lived up to their reputation for efficiency and prevented the peaceful protestors from inflicting too much damage. Their plans to disrupt the Summit have so far failed.
Trump's next meeting will be with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Deep State pervert James Mattis has already attempted to provoke Xi---much as he did at Mar-a-Lago. The day before the Summit, Obama henchman Admiral Harry Harris sent the USS Stetham into Chinese territorial waters, provoking a near military clash. Today---before the Xi-Trump meeting---Harris intentionally violated Chinese airspace with long-range B-1 bombers.
Rainbow Rex and the dingbat UN Ambassador Nikki Haley have also been provoking China by trying to push through a Taiwanese arms-deal and instigating the mentally unstable Indian President Modi into provoking border incidents with China. Tillerson is also pushing trade-barriers again. Xi is going to have to be as firm with Trump as Putin was, while taking into account Trump's inexperience.
President Trump understands domestic issues very clearly. But his political inexperience ---while it benefits him domestically---is a major handicap in Geopolitics. Trump has allowed himself to be imposed upon by so-called 'experts'---i.e. Tillerson, Mattis, and McMaster---who really serve the interests of the Deep State. The G-20 so far has been a learning experience for Trump who is benefitting from the insight and experience of Putin and Xi.
The G-20 may give President Trump the impetus and insight needed to bring about a badly-needed reform in US Foreign Policy. Time will tell. But this is an excellent opportunity with superpowers Russia and China holding out the olive branch for the US to return to a position of international respect again.

RETURN OF THE BIG THREE
The G-20 Summit meets in the once-proud city of Hamburg tomorrow. This is a far more critical meeting than last year's. President Trump is scheduled to meet with the leader of the Free World, Vladimir Putin.
The greatest challenge that Trump faces at this meeting is to ignore the blather of pundits and learn at the feet of a man who for the last two decades has fought boldly against the twin global scourges of degenerate Western Liberalism and the Wahhabi Jihadi cult. Putin must impress upon Trump that the US Deep State---represented in the Trump Administration by the treacherous Tillerson and his toadies McMaster and Mattis---are the common enemies of both countries. Trump would be well-advised to profit from Putin's experience in dealing with these types.
It's expected that Putin and Trump will discuss lifting sanctions and Syria policy. In both cases, Trump should follow Putin's lead. Putin has been successful in restoring order to Donbas and Crimea; as well as turning the tide against ISIS in Syria. In contrast, the US Deep State has caused chaos in all these places.
Putin will likely also address the NATO military provocations on Russia's Western border. Trump was inclined to withdraw from NATO during the campaign, something he should reconsider doing again. It would be far better for the world if the US, Russia, and China formed a military and economic alliance in defiance of entrenched vested interests who profit off war and economic instability.
Trump will also meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Sino-US relations are also deeply strained, again at the instigation of Trump's Deep State advisors.
What is important at this point in history is for the US leadership to exercise some humility and look to the future. It's time to scrap the outdated Cold War philosophies of John McCain and his ilk as well as the arrogant Pax Americana theories pushed by the Clintons and Bushmen. The US, Russia, and China are the three global superpowers and the interests of all three are mutually intertwined. If Trump heeds the good advice of Putin and Xi, we can look forward to an era of peace and prosperity as our nation formerly had prior to WW2 and the Cold War.

OBAMA SNUBBED AT APEC CONFERENCE
Our 44th President's final official state visit came to a merciful conclusion in Lima, Peru yesterday. The annual Asia-Pacific Economic Conference saw an essential repeat of Obama's disastrous performance and diplomatic snubbing as October's G-20 Summit in China. Obama left Peru having accomplished absolutely nothing while his enemies, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, dominated the conference.
Donald Trump's announcement that he would shelve Obama's proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) plan in January, and the repudiation of Obama's policies during the last election effectively reduced Obama's influence at APEC to that of a figurehead. The day after Trump's announcement, the Japanese Empire threw up the sponge on TPP. Even Obama's arrival in Peru was greeted by 5,000 anti-TPP protestors, and things went downhill for him from there. Vladimir Putin, however, who widely admired in South America was greeted by throngs of cheering crowds.
But, like the G-20, it was China's president Xi Jinping who set the tone for the Summit. Obama's failed 'Pivot to Asia' combined with the collapse of TPP has created an enormous power vacuum in the Pacific. Corporate Media shilling for Obama and the distractions of the 2016 Presidential Campaign have left many Americans completely unaware of how just how badly Obama's policies in the Pacific have damaged American economic and political power in the region. The losses the US sustained in the Pacific this year were monumental and left China to fill the void.
The incoming Trump Administration is definitely going to be obliged to reconsider some of Trump's hardline campaign positions vis-à-vis China. During the last year alone, the US has lost The Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore as exclusive allies to the Chinese; while Vietnam and Japan are turning to Russia. Indonesia is pursuing a more independent course, while Okinawa and South Korea have fallen into deep political unrest. Taiwan's position is increasingly precarious. During this weekend's conference, Putin and Xi discussed connecting the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union with China's New Silk Road project.
South American participants at APEC also expressed optimism at greater relations with China. Another fact that few Americans realize is that China is Latin America's 2nd-largest trading partner both in imports and exports. That relationship has only strengthened during the Obama Administration. Obama scrapped the Bush Administration proposal to create a free-trade zone in Latin America; and China reaped the benefits of that neglect. Obama's skullduggery in Mexico, Ecuador, Paraguay and Brazil have not helped US-Latin American relations either.
These things considered, it is to be hoped that Trump will follow through on his political advisors' suggestions that Mitt Romney be nominated for Secretary of State. Romney, like Trump, is a former CEO---but unlike Trump has considerable experience negotiating foreign economic deals. Romney has a good rapport with China and is well-respected in Latin America. He would be able to handle foreign affairs capably while Trump concentrates on domestic issues and internal rebuilding---which seem to be his primary focus.
Many Conservatives have little interest in global geopolitics, but Obama's utter impotence at the last G-20, ASEAN, and APEC Summits are not like we would want to see Trump. Trump is right in that rebuilding the US needs to be a top priority; but we cannot allow ourselves to fall to 2nd or 3rd-rate status in the global economy either. Trump has already shown some positive inclinations in this direction; by speaking of a new 'Bilateral Approach' to world trade. Actually, bilateralism has been the secret to China's foreign trade successes under Xi Jinping. Trump's announcement today that Nicky Haley would be UN Ambassador is also a positive step, as she is a very popular political figure in Asia.
So let us hope that APEC 2016 is the final scene in a long string of American foreign policy embarrassments. A future, less politically-correct generation is going to assess the Obama Legacy in foreign policy as an unmitigated disaster---very likely among the worst, if not the worst, administration in its handling of foreign affairs.

THE AXIS OF EVIL
Although there has never been the slightest proven connection between the 9/11 attacks and North Korea, George Bush named that part of an 'Axis of Evil' allegedly responsible for promoting global terrorism. That fact there are no Islamic Jihadists in North Korea never seemed to be questioned by the Corporate Media. The Obama Administration has continued the same policies; taking on an even more aggressive posture than Bush's.
After returning home in shame this week following his humiliating failures at he G-20 and ASEAN conferences, President Obama received the further aggravating news that North Korea had successfully tested its fifth atomic weapon. Now one might logically assume that a country that the US has declared fair game for a pre-emptive attack; which has US troops and missiles on its southern border; and put under various US sanctions, might find self-defense a prudent course of action. Nonetheless, the Beltway is beating the tocsins of war again, hoping to salvage something out of the failed Asian Pivot.
Besides the Beltway grandstanding and Wall Street's eagerness to cash in on another conflict, we have previously noted that the Moonie Cult is instigating much of the Corporate Media and political propaganda against North Korea. That the Moonies had a major influence in Bush Administration policies was well-documented in John Gorenfeld's 2008 book, Bad Moon Rising. Obama's Administration has not lessened Moonie influence in Korea policy; in fact, the Moonies have quite a presence in the late Reverend Moon's homeland of South Korea as well.
Most Americans are unaware of the fact that South Korea is a hotbed of pseudo-Christian religious cults led by messianic figures preaching apocalyptic scenarios, of which the Reverend Moon was fairly typical. The one ideology these cults all share in common is a hatred for North Korea; which they see as some type of Great Satan obstructing their millennial and messianic missions.
South Korea's leading news media outlet, JoonAng News, has been reporting---always with anonymous sources---some of the most absurd allegations of North Korean atrocities, which the US Corporate Media reports like parrots. One of the most recent stated that North Korean President Kim Jong Un executed two top official with a cannon for falling asleep during one of his speeches. Others have him throwing people to wolves; killing generals with mortar rounds; kidnapping Americans for sex slaves, and other stories in a similar vein. They make Kim out to be a modern Nero; which fits nicely into their cultish religious paradigms.
JoonAng News is deeply invested in the American Corporate Media, especially with the news outlets Forbes and Newsweek with whom they have exclusive distribution rights in South Korea. Newsweek itself is a subsidiary of IBT Media, whose owners are disciples of---you guessed it---a South Korean religious leader named David Jang.
The Reverend Jang was once a rising star among American Evangelical Protestants, and was the founder of Olivet College. Jang had some previous shady relations with the Moonies himself; some allege that he was once a member of the Unification Church. Nonetheless, many churches have cut ties with Jang and his church. There seems to be a strong suspicion among many leading Evangelicals that Jang is promoting himself as a false messiah. In 2008, Jang was investigated by an ecclesiastical council in Hong Kong comprised of leading Asian Evangelical pastors. The panel concluded that Jang's doctrine "was in strong probability promoting doctrines similar to that of the Unification Church." Among the signatories of Jang's condemnation was the president of China Graduate School of Theology.
In addition to Newsweek, IBT Media also controls the International Business Times and The Daily Beast, among other media outlets.
Is it any wonder, then, that North Korea is developing atomic weapons? How else is an old-school Communist regime finding itself backed into a corner by Wall Street freebooters, a resurgent Japanese Empire, and collection of powerful religious cults desiring Armageddon on its soil going to react?
To be sure, North Korea is hardly a sea of tranquility and prosperity. But the Korean Crisis needs to be put in some perspective. That American foreign policy towards North Korea is largely being driven by cults and vested financial interests is far more dangerous to world peace than North Korea's experiments with largely-obsolete weapons technologies.

OBAMA THROWS A TANTRUM AT G-20 SUMMIT
After a series of diplomatic snubs, White House gaffes, and seething with envy over Xi Jinping's popularity at the G-20 Summit, President Obama treated the world's leaders with a stellar performance of Ameroboob outrage. When finally given an opportunity to speak, Obama lashed out at his enemies.
"Part of what I've tried to communicate to President Xi" Obama thundered, "is that the United States arrives at its power, in part, by restraining itself."
A statement which must have raised more than a few eyebrows. The President continued: "When we see them violating international rules and norms, as we have seen in some cases in the South China Sea or in some of their behavior when it comes to economic policy, we have been very firm. And we have indicated to them that there will be consequences!"
Obama then turned his wrath on his other nemesis, Russian President Putin.
"We have had problems with cyber intrusions from Russia in the past," Obama fumed. "We cannot have a situation where countries that have significant cyber capacity start engaging in unhealthy competition or conflict through those means" (says the man who presided over the NSA spy scandal) "We're moving into a new era where a number of countries have significant cyber capacity. And frankly, we have more capability than anybody, both offensively and defensively!"
Obama also unleashed his frustrations on his rebellious satrap in The Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte. Obama gave covert aid to Duterte to elevate him to the Filipino Presidency, but the two have had a significant falling-out almost since Duterte's first day in office. The thuggish Filipino President took Obama's rather personally, and launched into a public tirade of his own---the text of which discretion compels us to draw a veil over. Obama was forced to cancel a scheduled meeting with Duterte over the incident.
Mercifully for American prestige abroad, the G-20 Summit concluded---closing one of the disgraceful US foreign policy episodes since Bush Senior puked on the Japanese Prime Minister in 1990.
Beltway antics aside, the 2016 G-20 Summit actually did see significant and progressive initiatives come to fruition. Post-BREXIT Britain and China seem to have resolved their differences over a pending nuclear deal which will potentially revolutionize the UK's energy sector. The nations also ratified China's proposal for a joint task force to fight global financial corruption, as well as a proposal for greater joint efforts to fight international terrorism. They also set up an international task force to promote innovation in technological fields. "Part of what I've tried to communicate to President Xi" Obama thundered, "is that the United States arrives at its power, in part, by restraining itself."
A statement which must have raised more than a few eyebrows. The President continued: "When we see them violating international rules and norms, as we have seen in some cases in the South China Sea or in some of their behavior when it comes to economic policy, we have been very firm. And we have indicated to them that there will be consequences!"
Obama then turned his wrath on his other nemesis, Russian President Putin.
"We have had problems with cyber intrusions from Russia in the past," Obama fumed. "We cannot have a situation where countries that have significant cyber capacity start engaging in unhealthy competition or conflict through those means" (says the man who presided over the NSA spy scandal) "We're moving into a new era where a number of countries have significant cyber capacity. And frankly, we have more capability than anybody, both offensively and defensively!"
Obama also unleashed his frustrations on his rebellious satrap in The Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte. Obama gave covert aid to Duterte to elevate him to the Filipino Presidency, but the two have had a significant falling-out almost since Duterte's first day in office. The thuggish Filipino President took Obama's rather personally, and launched into a public tirade of his own---the text of which discretion compels us to draw a veil over. Obama was forced to cancel a scheduled meeting with Duterte over the incident.
Mercifully for American prestige abroad, the G-20 Summit concluded---closing one of the disgraceful US foreign policy episodes since Bush Senior puked on the Japanese Prime Minister in 1990.
Beltway antics aside, the 2016 G-20 Summit actually did see significant and progressive initiatives come to fruition. Post-BREXIT Britain and China seem to have resolved their differences over a pending nuclear deal which will potentially revolutionize the UK's energy sector. The nations also ratified China's proposal for a joint task force to fight global financial corruption, as well as a proposal for greater joint efforts to fight international terrorism. They also set up an international task force to promote innovation in technological fields. OBAMA SNUBBED AT G-20 SUMMIT
President Obama arrived in China for his final appearance at a G-20 economic summit, and things have gotten off to rather shaky start. A few days before Obama's arrival, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau defied the White House by reaching an agreement with China to apply for membership in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Then Russian President Putin arrived to cheering crowds of welcoming Chinese citizens.
Obama, however, received a more frosty reception. In fact, he really got no reception. Air Force One landed on a runaway without the usual fanfare. The red-carpet staircase and high-level Chinese diplomatic officials were absent. Obama was compelled, like an ordinary citizen, to exit the plane on ordinary metal stairs.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that "China provides a rolling staircase for every visiting foreign leader, but the US side complained that the driver doesn't speak English and can't understand US security instructions."
The Chinese officials also prohibited journalists traveling with the President from approaching him for security reasons. This led to a heated verbal exchange between White House Staff Chief Susan Rice and the Chinese Airport Security Official who flatly told her,
"This is our country, this is our airport."
Scuffles have reportedly broken out between Obama's entourage and Chinese security details.
The US Corporate Media outlet, The Wall Street Journal fumed that "The Chinese barred Mr. Obama from including his travelling press contingent in the motorcade. The hosts have also refused a White House request for a joint press conference with Mr. Xi, and they also plan to block Mr. Obama's solo press briefing from appearing live on Chinese television."
The Chinese media---which is largely state-run---has, of this writing, even yet to report on Obama's arrival in China. Although there are several articles and photographs of President Xi greeting other leaders. Xinhua News did provide a summary, of sorts on the meeting between Xi and Obama, which reads more like a standard press release. In fact, there has really been more coverage of Putin gifting Xi with the Chinese president's favorite brand of Russian ice cream than much of anything Obama has said or done.
We suppose that it is understandable---after tolerating 8 years of our Administration's arrogance---that China would let the American elites know what they really think of them.
In more relevant news, post-BREXIT British Prime Minister Teresa May made an important commitment to strengthening Sino-British economic ties, heralding the beginning of a 'Golden Age' of free trade.
"This is the beginning of a Golden Age of UK-China relations" May said at a press conference, "The message I will bring to the G-20 is that Britain is now open for business, as a bold, confident, outward-looking country, we will be playing a key role on the world stage."
Ironically, Obama---who threatened that Britain would "go to the back of the trade queue" if it ratified BREXIT---arrived in China via the back-exit of an airplane, while Britain forged new trade ties.

CHINA CONFOUNDS BELTWAY ELITES AT G-20 SUMMIT
While the Corporate Media headlines are stirring up this week's outrage here in the Prozac Nation---which currently is over football jerseys and supposedly sexist girls' clothing---important developments are happening in more emotionally stable countries. Most notably the G-20 Economic Summit, hosted in China this year.
President Xi Jinping opened the conference with an inspiring speech outlining China's innovative approach to the global marketplace. Now in the 2016 elections, globalism, like social justice, has become a taboo subject. The Chinese President made some interesting remarks on this phenomenon, expressed in an interesting editorial in China's official party newspaper The Global Times.
When we speak of globalism in economic theory, it is really the classical free-market model actually practiced by the United States from the post-Civil War Era to the 1980s which we are discussing. The new course that China is following in global economics is similar in its pattern to our former one. The Chinese currency is backed by gold, as ours formerly was, enabling China to create the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank---an alternative to the IMF and World Bank. The New Silk Road Project is based on bilateral trade agreements---unlike NAFTA or the EU models which feature inflexible politically-motivated bureaucracies.
Contrary to the heated rhetoric thrown about in the Government-Media Complex, global free trade is not a bad thing. As Xi pointed out, the real source of Western discontent with international trade is that the West's own economic policies---which it has pursued since the 1990s---has failed.
The early 1990s saw Reagan-Era prosperity in the US break down---due largely to the 1st Bush Administration's abandonment of Reaganomics. At the same time, the Soviet system in Russia and the Maoist system in China were abandoned. A technology revolution brought the US economy from the brink of collapse, but it also left the US the world's lone Superpower. This has been the geopolitical premise the US has followed since roughly 1989. The so-called Pax Americana: world domination by the economic, political, social, and military American elite permeates the thinking of nearly all American policymakers and pundits. And this is essentially how Western thinking understands globalism.
This same policy has been applied domestically as well as abroad; and we see in the West the same elites benefitting through a network of cronyism and corruption while unemployment and underemployment swell against a backdrop of sluggish economic growth and inflation. The civil unrest this situation has caused led to the urban street riots and the rise of the Alt-Right here---and the rise of chaos and terrorism in countries like Iraq and elsewhere that US elites have occupied.
As the Chinese article points out, "The West has never recovered from the 2008 financial crisis and shows no signs of doing so. Policy response in both the US and Europe has been grossly inadequate, where monetary policy and quantitative easing have failed to stimulate growth."
Arguably, we have never really recovered from the financial crisis of 1991-92. The technology industry provided a stimulus, but our infrastructure and our agricultural and industrial base has never recovered. The dollar has continued to be devalued and public debt is running out of control unabated since that period. The response has not only been inadequate---it has been nearly nonexistent. American politicians have mostly engaged in window-dressing augmented by considerable Corporate Media propaganda keeping the public in a state of denial about any of this.
China, meanwhile, has become the unquestioned leader in the world economy, which is why this G-20 Summit may be the most important in history. The balance of power is clearly shifting in China's direction---because it's leadership is facing problems and solving them, unlike ours. As China's Xinhua News reported: "As Xi stated, this sought-after world economy should be established through exploring new sources of growth, expanding space for development, joining forces, and laying the foundations for win-win solutions." Contrast that with the gloomy rhetoric of Trump and Clinton: who talk of building border walls or expanding the welfare state.
The worst-case scenario is that US elites will react to Chinese economic dominance the only way they know how: start a shooting war, an idea that some Neocons are already floating. It would make a lot more sense to abandon our failing economic policies; focus on becoming internationally competitive again; and working with, not against, China because they've proven that they can get the job done without destabilizing governments or launching airstrikes.
But until the Ameroboob pulls his head out of the Hookah Lounge and stops worrying about sexist t-shirts and racist football jerseys, China will go on to world leadership in global economics.
