   May is typically a festive month with no shortage of holidays. If you're looking reason to celebrate during these gloomy times, there is something that can be done. While going through the news today, I learned something new: that May 15th is International Nylon Stockings Day. 

  This festive occasion falls on a Friday, so of course it extends into the weekend. Since we have a lot of female readers and followers here, we thought it best to remind all of you not to forget your civic holiday duties.

   And for male readers who have a damsel or a sister at home, we would encourage you to relate this information to the Fair One; stressing the importance of how we must all do our part during these trying times to keep public spirits high. This suggestion includes family men with daughters old enough to participate as well.

   So please feel free to share this article. With the Rainbow Left Wing and Low-T RINOs running up the score right now, Western men are in desperate need of inspiration. Ladies around the world can help turn the tide.

   Just remember that in the old Soviet Union, nylon stockings were about $50/pair on the Black Market. CULTURAL MARXISM AND GENDER DYSPHORIA

    I don't whether or not anybody noticed, but Hollywood staged the Academy Awards the other day. I just caught a couple of the main features on some vloggers' commentary. Apparently some drug addict went on a tedious anti-Civilization farrago and a pair of the Coneheads from 70's Saturday Night Live praised Karl Marx. Those were about the most interesting points of the whole sideshow.

   The guy in the first picture is named Joaquin Phoenix. His whole speech sounded like a lecture from a postmodern Sociology professor who'd overdosed on Barbiturates while watching The Don Lemon Show the night before and hadn't come around yet. At one point he talked about social oppression of cattle: now that's Liberal White Male Guilt with a vengeance! 

  While reflecting on this disgusting display, I came across a really good blog post from Adrienne. What she has to say about neo-Marxist impositions on gender roles is spot on. 

  The whole notion of obliterating sexual differences in society is not a new one, although it's fairly new in America. The French Jacobin Terrorists and the Russian Bolsheviks tried to enforce 'gender equality' and the results were so disastrous that the dictators who overthrew these regimes---Napoleon and Stalin---rescinded the laws. The wily Stalin even banned Feminism in the Soviet Union although he funded such movements in the West as a way of fomenting social instability in Capitalist nations. In hindsight, it was one of Uncle Joe's most brilliant strategic moves; and we in the West are still feeling the detrimental effects of it to this day. Stalin's successors Khrushchev, Brezhnev, and Andropov followed the same policy. 

   The movement really never gained any traction in the US until the 1990's although a big media push during the 1970's brought it to public awareness, it fizzled out during the Reagan years. The Clinton Co-Presidency revived it, and---with political backing---it's continued ever since. This has emboldened some incompetent Academics and Media perverts to declare that we've entered some utopian phase of Social Evolution whereby sexual differences and preferences no longer exist. 

   It can't be stressed enough that this view is pure pseudoscience. It's based upon no evidence whatsoever. So far from being an evolutionary leap forward, it's actually an evolutionary atavism, throwing gender relations back to prehistoric barbarism and beyond. 

   Here is a picture of a chimpanzee, which species Evolutionists claim is Man's nearest relative among the apes:

  Now, can anyone look at this photo and say whether this is a picture of a male or female ape? Probably not. Among apes, there's really no especial gender differentiation within their colonies except during breeding season. In their depictions of Prehistoric Man, we see some gender differentiation of labor, but little else to distinguish the genders.

   At the Dawn of Civilization, men and women began taking on definite and distinct forms. But note that female features appear more masculine than our concepts of beauty today:

    We can see that the Roman woman in the last photo is softer and more feminine than the Egyptian and Greek ones. Rome was on a far higher plane of civilization than any other nation up to that time. And we see the progression to a more distinctly feminine form in these portraits from the 16th, 18th, and 19th Centuries:

  This observation wasn't lost on Psychologists and other Social Scientists. It was learned through studies of infants and toddlers that---while the young ones are aware of gender differences, they begin to differentiate in social interactions about the age of 5. Thus it became obvious that---in both personal development and social evolution---that gender differentiation widens, not narrows, as man becomes more civilized. 

  Whether one believes this phenomenon occurs through Divine Providence or by Evolutionary Necessity is irrelevant: the results are the same. It stands to reason that, as Civilization grows more complex, the need for interdependence or, complimentarian gender roles grows greater and not more restricted. Thus the fantasies promoted by the Feminists, Red Pills, and Gay Mafia are nothing but a tissue of falsehoods. All of their futuristic schemes are doomed to fail, because Nature is moving in the opposite direction. And these same schemes are actually leading society back to the ape and not to a higher plane of humanity. 

   The Feminists, Manosophereans, Homo Activists, and Hollywood/Beltway idiots typically are sexually dysfunctional themselves and can't compete within Nature's parameters. They envy those who can; and that's why they want to change the paradigm---to their own advantage. Fortunately, more and more Americans are seeing through their charade and are going on to be the best men and best women they can. 

   

  

   

OWEN ON THE PROWL; VOX DAY GETS STUNG BY TROLLS

   Cult leader Owen Benjamin apparently is being tormented day and night trying to figure who sent the police on their recent visit to his compound. Readers might recall that the Kitsap County Sheriff dropped by for a welfare check after Owen started spazzing out and making threats on his livestream. Likely, posting pics of his wife with a black eye hasn't helped matters.

   Between spouting some really goofy Conspiracy Theories, Owen has recently been emphasizing "I dindu nuffin'" on his podcasts. He even assured his followers that his belief in a Flat Earth means he's more emotionally stable; and the fact that he breast-fed until the age of seven gave him superior health and intelligence. 

 Despite all of this, his obsession with the police visit came to the fore yesterday. Now he thinks he knows who called on him---Gamma Trolls, of course. Owen was boasting on-stream that he had secret method for catching Gammas. According to him, a Gamma can't resist bragging, so they go to places like Reddit and take credit for doing it. 

   "On their stupid little chats---and we've got VFM and Bears everywhere---guys, you think that on your little Discords and your little Reddits that we don't have people reading that stuff? That's how you catch people, you idiots!"

   Apparently they haven't been very attentive lately, because today their Grand Pooh-Bah Vox Day was beside himself with rage over some e-mails he'd received mocking his recent screw-ups. Vox posted two of them, holding them up as examples of 'Gamma Behavior'. What the Supreme Dark Lord completely missed was that the whole thing was a gag. How do we know this? Because it's been openly announced on Reddit for the last week!

   
   It seems like all of those cultists who have eyes everywhere were really asleep at the switch on this one. Vox and his VFM really got stung on this one. They're still over on Vox Populi raging through the comments like it was a serious story. I guess that shouldn't be surprising considering the kinds of cornballs who actively promote this Alpha-Gamma nonsense:

    Believe it or not, this is what's being sold to people as an alternative to Liberalism and Feminism. This same bunch laughs at 'Cuckservatives' and 'Churchians' as ineffective. So far, they haven't been effective at much but making fools of themselves and getting hooted off the Internet. But that's not a bad thing; it leaves the door open for real Conservatives to do the job that needs to be done. 

CANADA OPENS NEW SEX-DOLL RENTAL SERVICE

   Many people are under the impression that when Liberals take over a government, they drive away businesses and discourage entrepreneurship. We know from experience here on the West Coast that such an assumption is not necessarily the case. While some industries leave or go out of business; the door is opened for new, more progressive enterprises. Industries like marijuana growing; prescription drug manufacturing; gay bars; diversity enforcement agencies; trial lawyers and bail bondsmen all have seen explosive growth rates under Liberalism.

   Our once-great neighbor to the North---Canada---went down the tubes a long time ago. The country is a really big reason why we in America really need to upgrade our military and strengthen our borders; Canada's become so hopelessly weak that it's a sitting-duck for any power that desires to take it down. If they actually had anything worth taking anymore, it probably would have happened by now. 

  Now, Canada is already a significant exporter of narcotics, white slavery, and even terrorists to the United States. But one company in Calgary has come up with an exciting new development---they're now renting sex dolls. And the company---Natrl Dolls---has been doing so well that they're expanding to Vancouver where they're sure to tap into the massive market of perverts inhabiting America's Pacific Northwest. 

   For readers who don't regularly read Manosphere/Red Pill blogs, an explanation might be necessary. While technology---especially in plastics---has improved the umm...'quality' of sex dolls considerably, the cost is still prohibitive to many of these would-be Alphas; especially considering that most of them don't have actual jobs. The State-run Canadian Media pointed out that renting these ersatz ladies costs about 1/10 as much as buying one. It's even cheaper than conventional prostitution. It's actually quite the perfect set-up for most Red Pills: they can simultaneously use a woman for sex while never having to come in contact with an actual female! And best of all (from their perspective) it's cheap. 

    

    I wonder if these things are made in China? 😒 

    The owner of the rental service---who apparently was too ashamed to give his name to the press and spoke to the CBC on condition of anonymity---explained "The company will show up in a discreet car with a box that looks like it holds musical equipment. The staff follow the instructions left for them on the booking website — whether that includes dropping off the box for you to set up or setting the scene for you. They will put on makeup and spritz a bit of perfume tailored to each doll's personality."

   Yes---lest anyone think that those who rent these dolls are simply shallow, these things have umm...'personalities' too. 

  "Beyond just the physical features, like different bodies and hair and even elf ears, each doll comes with its own story and personality." Anonymous Owner explained, "Ariana, for example, is a 26-year-old bikini model from Venezuela, while Bella comes from an Icelandic clan of mushroom forest elves where women are forbidden from refusing sex to their lovers."

   And mostly importantly of all, Natrl Dolls shares Canada's commitment to diversity:
"Cameron, the sole male of the bunch, is pretty much up for anything, and while he's not as popular as the women,  he's been kept pretty busy."

   Is it just me, or does it seem like Trump wants to build a wall on the wrong border?

LESBO ACADEMIC GOES BERSERK; ATTACKS SENIOR CITIZEN

   Rie Hachiyanagi, an obese feminist art professor at Mt. Holyoke College is in the Hampshire County Jail this weekend facing charges of attempted murder after nearly beating an elderly woman to death with a stove iron before bashing her with a rock and trying to gouge out her eyes, according to Massachusetts Police.

   Hachiyanagi reportedly drove to the house of the unnamed woman---who also worked at the college---uninvited, and asked to speak to her about "a personal issue." Once inside, the art professor declared her 'love' to the elderly matron (the charges state that the victim was over 60; an aggravating factor under Massachusetts law). When the woman rebuffed her, stunned, Hachiyanagi flew into a rage and socked the old woman with a stove-poker when she turned around. One of America's stellar educators then pounced on her, bashing her with a rock and trying to gouge out her eyes with a pair of shears, screaming about 'homophobia' all the while.

   Somehow, the victim managed to call 911 during the struggle. Police arrived and dragged Hachiyanaga off to the slammer. But just remember everybody: it's men and toxic masculinity that's the real problem on college campuses---not putting sexual deviants in positions of authority. Hachiyanagi is being held without bail and will be arraigned on February 4th.

   According to Mt. Holyoke's website:

  Let us all hope that this attack was "benevolence and inner quietness" enough!

  It's sort of an interesting contrast to see what Mt. Holyoke was in its early days. In 1887, one in five women who graduated from Mt. Holyoke were married to Christian ministers. In 2014, the college became the first school to admit transgender and 'non-binary' students. Somehow, one doubts that in 1887 very many Lesbians were trying to kill people for being 'homophobic' then; but in our enlightened era, being married to a Christian man is considered worse than that. Mt. Holyoke, incidentally is rated the 32nd Best College in America and has an endowment of over $770 million.

ALPHA BOY JAILED FOR FOLLOWING MANOSPHERE ADVICE

   We've been documenting recently the plight of some women who've had the misfortune of getting involved with men connected to the Red Pill Cult. Generally speaking, women should avoid cultish men in the first place, because their lives---and those of their children---rarely have happy endings. 

   So, Austin Gillespie, whose Red Pill moniker is Augustus Sol Invictus, is a Florida lawyer who was once married with four kids. We've met him on this blog before. His wife left him a few years ago after his experimentation with hallucinogenic drugs really started affecting his mind in bizarre ways. He started hob-nobbing with Satanic Cults; drinking goat's blood; and finally found the Manosphere and the philosophy of Game. This of course convinced him that women were collectively responsible for his problems while at the same time he was boasting online about being a great Pick-Up Artiste. (PUA). He did manage to 'succeed' in encountering a few girls: we know this because several filed Restraining Orders and other various legal charges against him.

   Just before Christmas---probably after stewing over Red Pill blogs about rebellious wives and the sin of Eve---Augustus decided that having an estranged wife was bad for his image as a Manly Alpha Leader. So he drove to South Carolina and demanded that his wayward wife return. When she refused, he forced her and the kids at gunpoint into the car and returned to Florida. 

    After a week-and-a-half of putting his Game Philosophy into action, Augustus was convinced that his ex-wife had repented and decided to go shopping. That gave the former Mrs. Gillespie a chance to gather her brood and escape to the nearest police station. Augustus, who is well-known to the local police, was apprehended at the Melbourne Square Mall; according to some reports scuffling with officers and screaming obscenities as he was led away. 

   While Augustus did behave consistently with his Red Pill Philosophy, American law considers what he did kidnapping. Augustus Sol Invictus is currently being held without bond in the Brevard County Jail, awaiting extradition to South Carolina. I'm not a legal expert, but it looks at this point as if Augustus is on his way to the clink for a very long time; and in fact we've probably heard the last of him. 

   Red Pills intentionally seek out vulnerable women to prey upon; but one thing they are skilled at doing is manipulating people and they weaponize feminine psychology. Not very many women are immune to this type of grooming---as Augustus' case shows. It really would behoove single women (and mothers of single daughters) to study the Red Pills. I don't mean their goofy philosophies, but the actual tactics they employ against women. Knowing how to recognize Game is the best defense against it. A good starting point would be to look up Roissy's 16 Commandments, Rollo Tomassi's Ironclad Rules, just about anything written on the Dalrock blog, and Dark Triad PUA.

ANOTHER HOLLYWOOD ELITE IN JAIL

   As we all know, in Postmodern America, that Hollywood represents the Elite of the Elite. Just ask them, and they'll tell you so. They are ever on the forefront of the Culture; tackling the tough issues and lecturing us little people on how we should behave and think. 

   Take, for example, Director and Producer Mollie Fitzgerald. Since 2011, she's made seven acclaimed films and written one other. And she's been engaged in socially-conscious causes, too. In 2018, Mollie Fitzgerald called upon the Pentagon to remove nanotechnology voice-transmitter implants from people. She claimed that one was implanted in her own head during a recent dental visit. Now, while we of The Great Unwashed out in Flyover Country might think that behavior a bit strange, to Hollywood it's cause for promotion. As of this writing, it's reported that Mollie has three products slated for production. 

   Unfortunately for all of us, we may never see the Film Industry's latest efforts to enlighten us. Mollie Fitzgerald is the Johnson County Jail in Kansas charged with---wait for it!---homicide. 

   The headlines in most of the Corporate Media state words to the effect that she was arrested "for the stabbing death of a 68-year old Olathe woman." One really has to dig around a bit to learn that the murdered woman was Patricia Fitzgerald, who happened to have been Mollie's own mother. The way that these Media people cover for one another is truly touching...

   As a side note, it always amazes me how different these 'celebrities' look in real life as opposed to their 'image.' It's sort of an apt metaphor for their character and personality, too.

   Johnson County Sheriff Calvin Hayden hasn't released a motive for the murder, which happened five days before Christmas, other than to say she's being held on $500,000 bond. Not too big an expense for Hollywood's 'fixers'; but we have yet to see whether or not they'll intervene. Kansas isn't exactly California---where Hollywood can buy off any crime including murder. 

   Patricia Fitzgerald, the victim, seems to have been quite a well-loved woman by what few MSM accounts that we have of her. Her nickname was 'Tee'. She was physical therapist who married a lawyer named Terry Fitzgerald in 1973 and moved to Houston where had a law firm. She'd grown up on a farm and frequently visited her family. Recently, her and her husband celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary. Her husband had just retired, and they were moving back to Kansas because his wife always missed the rural life.   

   According to Patricia's obituary, "Tee was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she was always helping people and animals in need. She loved sports and was an avid tennis player and was a huge fan of the Rockets and the NBA." The family requested that Memorial Donations be sent to two of Patricia's favorite charities: the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Texas and the Great Plains Pet Adoption Center in Merriam, Kansas. Her funeral Mass is tomorrow at the Divine Mercy Parish of Gardner, Kansas. 

   Unlike the Hollywood Elite, Patricia Fitzgerald was real America and it's sad that her life had to end like this. But the Media isn't concerned with such people. Instead, we'll probably get another Media Circus around the trial; and the Media Elites and Madison Avenue will go laughing all the way to the bank.

VOX' TROLLS AND RED PILL WOMEN

   So yesterday, Vox Day was gushing with pious horror; claiming that someone had sicced the FBI/SWAT upon his crony Owen Benjamin's compound. As it turns out, the police actually did show up there. There are public records out there and it didn't take some on Youtube very long to uncover the truth:

    Poor Big Bear: he doesn't even have credibility when he tries to do something stupid. At least the guys on Youtube are having an easier time doing research on the Web than the vaunted Vile Faceless Minions. Vox was obliged to write a post today giving them the basics:

Note that without the timestamps from BOTH the original and the violating video, the lawyers cannot submit the copyright infringement notification. So, if you're not going to provide that, there is no point in providing anything.

I understand people are simply trying to help. But the key word there is "trying", as it is vital to understand that actual help requires REDUCING the burden upon others, not INCREASING it. Which is why just bringing something to someone's attention cannot reasonably be described as helping.

   But what was more serious was reading through some of the comments. A lot of good men who are fighting the repulsive Red Pill Cult---in all of its manifestations---were deeply concerned that something may have happened to Owen Benjamin's wife and kids, Owen schools his followers in all the abusive tactics of Game/Dark Triad advocated by the sachems in the Manosphere. Game is overall a very nasty form of psychological abuse and generally appeals to men who can't keep a woman except through force, fraud, and fear. 

   Feminism's influence in our culture is one factor that produces female vulnerability to abusive men. Many American girls grow up without any healthy male authority figures. Those who are lucky enough to have real fathers have a respect for men and confidence in their feminine roles. Those who hate their fathers develop Penis Envy and become Lesbians and Radfems. 

   But still some girls grow up with a healthy sexuality---i.e. the desire to submit to a strong and dominant man; but the weak men and cultural gynocentricity frustrates them so that by they time they reach their late teens/early twenties they're desperate for anything that even remotely appears like strength. Such women are picked off easily by thugs and other predators like Owen Benjamin and this scumbag:

      This clown is a vlogger named Nathaniel Slattery, who was recently excommunicated from the Bear Cult but reinstated after grovelling in public to Owen Benjamin. He was recently married to a girl whom he Gamed; and has done what abusers typically do. He's isolated her from her community and family and brags about what he allows her to do and not do. Like many others in the Red Pill community, Slattery has a proclivity for violence and frequently flies into uncontrollable rages. 

    Crocko and others have documented videos of Slattery bragging about recurring dreams about slaughtering people and often he vlogs while cradling a rifle. He claims to have had homosexual tendencies in his youth. (That I don't doubt; but I do doubt that he no longer has them). Understandably, some real men out there are concerned about the welfare of his young wife. 

   Hopefully the exposure being put upon the cultists now will give women and children trapped in the system a chance to break free. At least it will prevent a lot of others from making the same mistake. 

THE WHITE HOUSE AND THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

    It's hard to believe that it's nearly Christmas already and that 2019 is drawing to a close. This December admittedly has been a rocky month, the last week in particular. It seems like every imaginable wingnut has been popping up lately, causing all sorts of chaos. 

   Since Thanksgiving, police nationwide have been involved in gunfights---most notably in Miami and Jersey City. We had the tragic Heidi Broussard Case, where an online community came together to help but were plagued with mean-spirited trolling. The Whacko Left-Wing has been spamming every vacant spot on the Ethernet with their Impeachment hysteria. Sports "heroes" are behaving like complete idiots; the Red Pills have been running wild; and even the Never-Trump nitwits have re-surfaced with their less-than-two-cents'-worth. 

   In the midst of all of this, however, the Trump Administration is again leading by example. Just three years ago, who'd have thought that Americans would ever again look to the White House as an oasis of tranquility and stability at Christmastime? This is the third White House Christmas of the Trump Era; and Mrs. Trump has set up a real showcase for us.

   It seems like every year, the displays somehow are even better than the year before. This year's theme is "The Spirit of America." As in previous years, Melania designed the entire layout herself.

   The First Lady said: "This Christmas season I want to honor those who have shaped our country and made it the place we are proud to call home. When I travel the country, I am inspired by the hard working people and families that I meet. No matter which state they call home, many Americans share a strong set of values and deep appreciation for the traditions and history of our great nation. Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who worked to make sure the People’s House was ready for Christmas,”

   A lot of people forget that Melania was born in Yugoslavia, a Communist country, and brought up in a Communist system. Her father raised his children in a State Housing Complex and worked as an official in the State-run automotive enterprise that produced the infamous Yugo. Melania related once that her father had her and her siblings secretly baptized as Catholics in order not to jeopardize his position. He later became a partisan fighting for Slovenian Independence. Against this background, she learned to appreciate the freedoms we have here---including religious freedom---and has always been an outspoken critic of the Left and Atheists who want to do us what they did in Yugoslavia, if not worse.

 
   President Trump invited several UN dignitaries to view the display before lighting the National Christmas Tree. At that latter ceremony, the Trumps invited and honored Christian leaders in the US who were distinguished for their charitable works this year, Among those were officials of the Salvation Army; Sarah Verardo, who runs a service providing free medical equipment to wounded veterans and policemen; and Pastor Obed Jauregui who runs one of the nation's largest outreach services to the poor. 

  Contrary to all the nutcases who've been grabbing the public spotlight lately, this what America really looks like on the inside. This is probably what's been driving the internal enemies of our Culture crazy---they can't stand what they see. 

   President Trump summed it up, addressing the crowd that evening:


   "In 1923, President Calvin Coolidge lit the first National Christmas Tree. Later that night, African American community centers held an outdoor worship service on these grounds.  And during that service, the Washington Monument was illuminated with a beautiful cross, a powerful reminder of the meaning of Christmas.

 "Christians give thanks that the Son of God came into the world to save humanity.  Jesus Christ inspires us to love one another with hearts full of generosity and grace...And at Christmas, we remember this eternal truth: Every person is a beloved child of God.  As one grateful nation, we praise the joy of family, the blessings of freedom, and the miracle of Christmas."

TRUMP, TURKEY DAY, AND WHACKO LEFT FUMING

   Out here on the Pacific Coast, our holiday celebrations are usually starting about the same time that they're winding up back East. Thus, before dinner we get hammered the usual Trump-bashing newsfeeds. Holidays are especially miserable times for White Liberals. They are by nature ingrates; so Thanksgiving doesn't mean anything to them. They hate America and Dead White Males, so Independence Day likewise frustrates them. Of course, Easter and Christmas commemorate events that they don't believe in; and even MLK Day has gotten boring because no Black people ever show up for their virtue-signalling put-ons. To make it worse, they have to attend politically-correct parties with people they don't especially like; and everyone spends the evening trying not to offend everyone else. 

  So Trump-bashing is something of a safety-relief valve for them; to prevent them from completely going berserk and doing things like these kids from two very Liberal Boston High Schools did. 

  One such story from the fake news went after Melania Trump. Melania visited Baltimore yesterday to give an address to students about the Opioid Crisis. As she walked out on stage, she was briefly booed before a chorus of cheers drown out the hecklers.

  Even though the booing lasted less than a minute, Fake News outlets made it a headline: completely ignoring the Administration's successes in fighting the opium epidemic in Baltimore. It's not known who was orchestrating the booing; probably school officials themselves, or hoodlums they'd had released from Juvy and paid for the photo-op. 

  Maryland Elite Educrats are not happy with the Trump Administration right now. Earlier this week, they were utterly humiliated in Federal Court by a Christian school that refused to bow to their junk-science standards on gender policies. To make matters even worse for the Maryland Left, Bethel Christian Academy---the Plaintiffs in the case---is 85% Black; a fact which seems not to have appeared in MSM coverage of the story. 

  Another story that popped in Yahoo News was manufacturing some fake scandal about the cost of President Trump's vacation trips. No sooner had the Left exhausted their invective in the comments' section then a new story broke: Trump Pays Surprise Visit to Troops in Afghanistan. 

  So while President Trump and US Soldiers dined on turkey, the media clowns were eating crow. 

  Well, it's nearly dinner time out here. I think that we can all be especially thankful for the new direction in which our country is moving. And it might be worthwhile to reflect on what the President had to say today in conclusion:

  "On Thanksgiving Day, we remember with reverence and gratitude the bountiful blessings afforded to us by our Creator, and we recommit to sharing in a spirit of thanksgiving and generosity with our friends, neighbors, and families.

  "Nearly four centuries ago, determined individuals with a hopeful vision of a more prosperous life and an abundance of opportunities made a pilgrimage to a distant land.  These Pilgrims embarked on their journey across the Atlantic at great personal risk, facing unforeseen trials and tribulations, and unforetold hardships during their passage.  After their arrival in the New World, a harsh and deadly winter took the lives of nearly half their population.  Those who survived remained unwavering in their faith and foresight of a future rich with liberty and freedom, enduring every impediment as they established one of our Nation’s first settlements.  Through God’s divine providence, a meaningful relationship was forged with the Wampanoag Tribe, and through their unwavering resolve and resilience, the Pilgrims enjoyed a bountiful harvest the following year.  The celebration of this harvest lasted 3 days and saw Pilgrims and Wampanoag seated together at the table of friendship and unity.  That first Thanksgiving provided an enduring symbol of gratitude that is uniquely sewn into the fabric of our American spirit.

  "More than 150 years later, it was in this same spirit of unity that President George Washington declared a National Day of Thanksgiving following the Revolutionary War and the ratification of our Constitution.  Less than a century later, that hard-won unity came under duress as the United States was engaged in a civil war that threatened the very existence of our Republic.  Following the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, in an effort to unite the country and acknowledge “the gracious gifts of the Most High God,” President Abraham Lincoln asked the American people to come together and “set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a Day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.”  Today, this tradition continues with millions of Americans gathering each year to give their thanks for the same blessings of liberty for which so many brave patriots have laid down their lives to defend during the Revolutionary War and in the years since.

   "Since the first settlers to call our country home landed on American shores, we have always been defined by our resilience and propensity to show gratitude even in the face of great adversity, always remembering the blessings we have been given in spite of the hardships we endure.  This Thanksgiving, we pause and acknowledge those who will have empty seats at their table.  We ask God to watch over our service members, especially those whose selfless commitment to serving our country and defending our sacred liberty has called them to duty overseas during the holiday season.  We also pray for our law enforcement officials and first responders as they carry out their duties to protect and serve our communities.  As a Nation, we owe a debt of gratitude to both those who take an oath to safeguard us and our way of life as well as to their families, and we salute them for their immeasurable sacrifices.

   "As we gather today with those we hold dear, let us give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings we enjoy.  United together as one people, in gratitude for the freedoms and prosperity that thrive across our land, we acknowledge God as the source of all good gifts.  We ask Him for protection and wisdom and for opportunities this Thanksgiving to share with others some measure of what we have so providentially received."
