Some controversy arose over a recent article here criticizing the position of Alt-RINO talk-show host Michael Savage on welfare reform. Some hardliners like Savage believe that there should be no so-called 'social safety net'. One would assume that the Great Depression of the 1930s would have settled this issue; but Deep State mismanagement and abuse have caused a reaction that is far out of proportion to the problem.
So one Libertarian pointed out that statistics are showing that the most purchased items in the Food Stamp program are groceries that most of us consider 'junk food' and that illustrates that the money is being wasted. But is that so?
We've made the argument here that the way to reform welfare programs is to cut back on bureaucratic overhead and pursue deflationary economics. Bureaucracy can be reduced simply by eliminating redundant and overlapping federal and state agencies. The second would cure problems such as those raised by our Libertarian critics. For example, let's establish a few facts relative to the Food Stamp program.
First and foremost, it must be understood that indigent people do not have unlimited funds for purchasing foodstuffs. In states on the West Coast, it amounts to slightly less than $200 per person per month. Now let's do some comparison shopping in the same area, from a major supermarket chain:

Maybe if the Agribusiness Cartels weren't price-gouging consumers so much on staples, low-income Americans might make healthier choices, shouldn't we suppose? We should suppose that if milk were cheaper than cola, people would drink more of it: this is just simple economics.
It's also a matter of simple economics that farmers aren't getting paid anywhere near what supermarkets are charging for their products. And since the government reimburses these companies for Food Stamp purchases, the Robber-Barons simply charge the maximum that the market will bear. If this costs sales, no problem. They donate the surpluses to food banks and write the losses off their taxes as charitable donations.
This is the real scam going on within the welfare system; and the reason why Liberals---who don't mind meddling with the economy everywhere else---talk about tax increases for more spending; but never about price-controls. They prove that they're hypocrites and toadies of Wall Street; because if they were honest Liberals, price-controls would actually be effective at helping the poor.
Price-controls however, have economic disadvantages of their own. The Nixon Administration tried them in the 1970s, and the result was economic stagnation. What needs to happen to bring down prices is Deflationary Economics. By increasing the buying power of the dollar to reasonable levels again, food and other necessities would become affordable again.
We have had economic inflation for so long in the US that most Americans believe that it is inevitable. Not so. We had deflation for most of the mid-20th Century and that contributed to our prosperity.
To give an example of how badly the Deep State has corrupted the Dollar, consider that when President Reagan left office, the Dollar had double the buying power of the day that President Obama did. Is it any wonder that record numbers of Americans have been on public assistance since the 1990s?
We don't need to cut public assistance; we need to cut out the parasites and the price-gougers from the system. And with a solid dollar, that would be possible.
There's nothing like exceeding expectations and President Trump has done it again. On the eve of the APEC Summit, we were expecting that some good trade news and some cooperation in fighting the Opioid Epidemic would be the highlights of Trump's visit to China. Instead, the Chinese Media is announcing the biggest trade deal in Sino-US history: worth over a quarter trillion dollars and mutually benefiting both countries.
An unbelievable 34 trade treaties were signed. Here are the top five, as reported by The Global Times:
1. US microchip manufacturer Qualcomm agreed to a $12 billion contract to provide advanced chips to three Chinese smart-phone manufacturers. Besides being an economic boost for our Tech Sector; China has long sought to ease American export restrictions on sophisticated microchip technologies. At the last CED meeting, China stressed these restrictions as a major obstacle to fair trade. Trump is reversing apparently this policy---first put in by the Clintons---which was really designed to protect US cellphone manufacturers (who were outsourcing anyway) from competition with Chinese firms.
2. China agreed to lift restrictions on US soybean exports---representing a $5 billion gain to American agriculture.
3. America's largest aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, has agreed to sell 300 passenger jets to China's airline system. This is a $37 billion gain for the US Aerospace Industry. Obama had foolishly held up sales of these jets to China over his peacocking 'Pivot to Asia'.
4. The China Energy Investment Corporation pulled the biggest surprise by agreeing to invest a whopping $84 billion in upgrading American shale gas and chemical refineries in West Virginia. This is the very kind of trade deal we've needed from China. The benefit to US Coal producers is going to be huge and likely will turn the economy completely around in North Appalachian regions.
5. China also agreed to invest $43 billion in a joint Sino-US effort to produce gasoline from the Arctic and Alaskan regions. This is another brilliant move by the two presidents. Currently, Russia is the dominant power in oil and gas production in the Arctic. The US fell behind under the last three administrations, while China has only recently begun Arctic exploration. Working together, the two countries can represent a major force in the Petroleum Industry again. It should be noted that both the US and China have independent agreements with Canada for exploring Canadian resources. An economic cooperation between the three countries will put us in a position to challenge Russian and Arabian oil production.
The hyenas in the US Media were naturally downplaying these achievements: ridiculously claiming that Trump was selling out to the Chinese and other such things. These assertions were held up to well-deserved laughter in the Chinese press. Who would have thought that a year after the Election that America would be exporting goods to China and that Chinese companies wanted to outsource to the US?
There were other achievements at the Summit as well. True to his promise, President Trump also secured Xi's cooperation in establishing an anti-Opioid Task Force.
Is anyone still sorry that Hilary lost last year?
A year ago, Americans awoke to the news that the Era of the Deep State was over. The Corporate Media---whose ratings and credibility have imploded since that day---have been trying to distract the public by claiming electoral rejection of Trump in the 2017 Elections. The fact that liberals won seats in overwhelmingly Democrat localities, though, is hardly a repudiation of Trump's policies.
During the last year, things have changed radically in the US; and mostly for the better. The economy is showing growth---still slow by global standards, but dramatically higher than the last several decades. Thousands of Americans have left welfare for work again. As Vice-President Pence noted yesterday, much of this growth is happening in the Energy Sector. This is due largely to President Trump's repeal of several federal-level obstructions holding back development.
Our Energy Sector and our infrastructure generally still have a long way to go. However, the Administration has been cracking down aggressively on corporate polluters. Starkist and Tyson Foods were among the worst offenders and they've been compelled to clean up damaged waterways. Trump has begun some new water treatment projects and ordered upgrades in our power-grids. Also the recent hurricanes and floods have the Administration moving on upgrading our failing levees.
In education, Trump has been moving to close the science gap and begin new projects for space exploration. Vice-President Pence has been active in this area. Our schools, though, are a disaster. Hopefully we'll see further progress in 2018 on this front.
Pence also pointed out significant gains in fighting the Opioid Epidemic and wiping out gangs. The Administration has done outstanding work in this field. The vicious MS-13 gang has been decimated with well over a thousand of its members rounded up. Opioid supply links have been smashed---especially ones surfeiting off corruption in the US medical system. The President stated his intention to propose a Sino-US Task Force to fight opium traffic with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In foreign trade, we've seen significant improvements. One of the issues that the Corporate Media has wholly ignored has been the Administration's crackdown on price-gouging and unfair shipping practices by foreign firms. The EU has been the biggest violator and five European shipping companies have been sanctioned and fined this year alone. Their egregious cheating has been undercutting American shipping companies for years. 2017 may be the first year in decades that American shipping sees growth.
The Trump Administration has also caused a sharp increase in American agriculture. Especially opening exports of rice and beef to China. But other countries have been opened for export too. The long-term effect of some of this will be an expansion of US agriculture; which should result in lower food prices. By extension, lower prices should also continue to reduce the national welfare burden.
And Beltway swamp-draining shouldn't be overlooked. A fairly significant number of corrupt bureaucrats are winding up in jail. Several corrupt policies---like funneling government settlements to Soros-funded activist groups have been terminated. States receiving federal funds are being audited for the first time. Not only that, but some of the prosecutions of the Obama years are being re-opened and re-examined. Three military servicemen, purged in the sexual-harassment witch-hunts have had their convictions overturned.
And contrary to what the Corporate Media and the NFL are saying, the Trump Administration has been cracking down on police brutality and corruption, especially in the Prison-Industrial Complex. Just last week, some guards in the Louisiana Prison System were indicted for brutality and the the head of a prison transport company jailed for raping female inmates.
The Media has also become silent on Obama-Era scandals---mostly because Trump has been cleaning them up. Remember the Volkswagen Clean Air Scandal; or the Fat Leonard Scandal; or the Epipen Scandal; or the Real-Estate Bid-Rigging Scandal? All of these have been settled with jail time for liable parties. So recently was the scandal in which the IRS singled out Conservative Groups. And the Government is currently working on LIBOR, the Haiti-Relief Scandal, and Operation Fast-and-Furious. Some have already gone to jail in the last two cases and warrants are outstanding relative to LIBOR.
And that list doesn't include the numerous Medicare fraud, corrupt contracting deals, securities frauds, etc. that politically-connected crooks got away during the years of the Deep State.
Mr. President: we're all looking forward to another year.
President Trump was in South Korea today en route to major summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping tomorrow. The Chinese are looking forward to the visit and have even opened the historic Old City for the President and his entourage to tour.
All throughout Asia though, the social media has been abuzz with stories and photos of Mrs. Trump and First Daughter Ivanka. Melania attended a special choir performance by Japanese schoolchildren yesterday. But Ivanka is quickly learning that she too has a global following among young women. In both Japan and South Korea, Ivanka was greeted by throngs of young females who admire her like a celebrity---even to the point where the stodgy Imperial Prime Minister Abe posed for some photo-ops with her. That, incidentally saw Abe's approval ratings spike somewhat among Japanese youth.
If Ivanka was awed by her reception in Japan and Korea; she's really going to have an experience in China tomorrow where her popularity is "off the charts" even by the admission of the Politburo's official news service, The Global Times. An unofficial poll in the Chinese social media indicates that Ivanka is consistently ranking in the Top 5 of most popular non-Chinese celebrities and her name has been appearing among most common for newborn girls in Chinese hospitals throughout 2017.
The perverts and feminists in the US Corporate Media and Academia are beside themselves with frustration and rage. They are watching mostly two these two women---who are leading by example---undoing the social damage wrought by 3-4 decades of Radical Feminist imposition. In a world where young women have very little guidance, they are rallying around Melania and Ivanka who show them true femininity.
We have been failing young girls in our culture, though not to the extent as young boys. Whereas young boys have had their masculinity contained; young girls are not provided with any boundaries. The Feminists expect women to deny their gender roles and try to impose on them roles for which women are not at all suited. The result of this can be seen in CDC reports showing that American women are world's largest consumers of antidepressants; as well as high rates of obesity, suicide, and other self-destructive behaviors. What they've lacked are positive female role models,
The US has been a global leader in culture since the late 19th Century, but our influence has declined radically since the 1990s. Most other civilized nations despise the kind of Cultural Marxism we've been producing---and many have rejected it with contempt. Melania and Ivanka represent in foreign minds the traditionally high quality of American women. This is why they are so popular abroad; they represent a popular cultural shift which other peoples desire to emulate.
It's been almost a year since President Trump was elected and the anniversary seems to have triggered Left-Wing whackos to acts of violence, like a Full Moon is supposed to turn certain people into werewolves. Within the last two weeks, anti-Trump crackpots have killed 86 people in mass-shootings at a concert and a church; and beaten up a US Senator.
Today, a drug addict and religious fanatic named Michael Arega was captured near the White House by the Secret Service after the FBI warned them that he was in the area. Arega's wife called the FBI after Arega had left home suddenly without his prescription psych-dope and she discovered Internet postings suggesting that he was going to DC to kill White people and to harm the President "in the name of Jesus." Arega apparently didn't know that the President is currently travelling out of the country.
It goes without saying that Arega's intentions and Christ's teachings are poles apart from one another. He's certainly not the first religious fanatic to threaten a US President; in fact, in President Garfield's case one actually succeeded. Arega claims allegiance to an entity called the All Nation Kingdom of God Church, but that denomination doesn't come up in any research.

Where should we suppose that this loser picked up ideas like these? Again, the Corporate Media---with its continual drum-beat of anti-Trump hysteria---bears a lot of the responsibility. Yesterday in Texas, an atheist nihilist lashed out at a church; today a religious fanatic was going for the government.
The evil intention of all this media hysteria against Trump, Conservatives, Christians, etc. is aimed at setting off human time-bombs like these. We've seen on the Extreme Right how Red Pill Cultists incite acts of violence in this way. Corporate Media celebrities (and recently professional athletes) are reaching out to unstable individuals by encouraging them to project their own mental problems onto their enemies. People like Arega reflect in the Media stature of these celebrities and imagine that their violent actions will make them heroes in the eyes of their idols. In Arega's case, he went one step further and created a fantasy that God was speaking to him through these propagandists. Other posts to Arega's sites indicate that he believed such attacks as he was contemplating would morally cleanse the earth.
This is the reason why it is important to expose these provocateurs. Breaking the psychological connection between speaker and listener in such cases can prevent such tragedies from happening. And in cases where it doesn't happen, we should be thankful that responsible people stepped up to intervene, as Arega's wife did.
Once again, dozens of people were massacred in America---this time in a Baptist Church south of San Antonio. The Corporate Media, as usual, are disgracing themselves in the eyes of both our country and the world. It's better to pass over their vulgarity and stupidity and concentrate on what can be done positively.
President Trump, who was visiting Japan today en route to an important summit in China remarked, "In dark times such as these, Americans do what they do best: we pull together; we join hands; we lock arms; and through the tears and through the sadness we stand strong." He went on to promise assistance from his administration---a hint that other organizations should be doing the same.
To the chagrin of the Radical Left, reports are leaking out that, not only was the shooter one of their number but that armed citizens intervened to stop the suspect before more victims were taken. One Johnnie Langendorff of Seguin, Texas was reportedly engaged in a gunfight with the attacker; chasing him off the church property. The suspect---a dishonorably discharged veteran of Obama's Air Force---was slain and his soul sent to Tartarus, allegedly at the hands of one of the citizenry. That deserves a round of applause.
Of course, the Media vipers are giving Langendorff only a tiny fraction of the attention they are lavishing on the suspect. And just as typically they are giving little or no attention to the victims or how to help them. Whenever Christians are killed, the Media always sympathizes with their killers: which should be expected when they work for people like Sally Quinn, a self-confessed Satanist.
What's known so far of Johnnie Langendorff shows to him to be a fairly typical 'Southern-boy' who told the press that "he felt that he had to do the right thing" by risking his life and pitting his skills against an adversary who was actually carrying a heavier weapon and wearing a bulletproof vest. This is the type of man upon whom the media should be focusing instead.
But heroism and doing the right thing isn't only about fighting off armed thugs. There are more than two dozen innocent dead and an unknown number of injured who---along with their families---need help and support. And as the President said, it is in these times of crisis that we show our strength.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky was attacked in his yard this afternoon after his neighbor suddenly went berserk and charged on Paul's property. The neighbor, one Rene Boucher who is a known anti-Trump fanatic, has been harassing the Senator for some time according to neighbors. Senator Paul was also a target of last Summer's assassination attempt that wounded House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.
Boucher is currently in the Warren County Jail on assault charges. According to the local media, he is a physician who runs a pain clinic. His past political history shows him to have been part of the Occupy Movement; and his personal webpages are filled with anti-Trump hysteria. The Warren County Sheriff's Office hasn't issued an official statement: typically in such cases they are awaiting a psychological evaluation.
In this case, the motives for the attack probably were at least aggravated by political fanaticism. As obsessed with politics as Boucher clearly was, they no doubt played a part in his actions. Those on the Far Left with whom the personal is political rarely behave in any way without trying to make a social statement.
It ought to be noted too that Boucher's political rantings show that he strongly favors Gun Control. Now let's think back to the recent massacre in Las Vegas (also incidentally committed by a Radical Leftist). Wasn't the Corporate Media and the Liberal Establishment carrying on with a lot of hyperbole about the responsibility of pro-2nd Amendment politicians? Politicians like Senator Rand Paul, for example. The Left was accusing politicians like Senator Paul of being complicit in mass murders like Las Vegas.
Rhetoric like that is deliberate and done purposely to set off unstable people like Rene Boucher. As a medical man, Boucher no doubt heard rhetoric about attempts to repeal Obamacare as genocide against the poor and other nonsense. It never seemed to occur to him that Senator Paul's father is also a physician and that they could have discussed their opposing views on civil and professional terms.
But the Corporate Media isn't spewing hateful rhetoric to build unity. It is their type of attitude that caused Pope Francis to warn us about abuse of the tongue and how words could be employed as weapons. The Media and other Deep-State Leftists don't care what damage they cause: people like Boucher are simply useful idiots; expendable pawns in their power games. If convicted, Boucher faces a year in jail; will likely lose his medical license. And his business reputation is already irrevocably damaged. But the political elites who incite those like him will keep drawing their fat paychecks and inciting others to do the same.
The moral here is that what the Pope said about the tongue is a warning---not advice. He understands that we all have differing levels of moral education and differing levels of susceptibility to sophistry and propaganda. That is why we always must stress a civil level of public discourse because such people are also easily influenced by positive words.
UPDATE: Since yesterday, it has been announced that the Senator suffered broken ribs during the assault. The attacker hit him from behind, BTW.
